Shark Attacks Shark!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueAustraliastic

This is crazy!

A great white shark was discovered in Australia that had been bitten in half by another shark that's suspected to be up to 20 feet long!

Beachgoers are encouraged to stay out of the water since the massive shark could still be lurking in the waters.

Watch above to see the damage!

  2. 2

Perez I suggest you watch the documentary "Shark waters" so you get more educated about sharks .. they aren't out to EAT humans dumbass.

  3. 3

holy guacamole! stay out of the waters if you're in Queensland!!!

  4. 4

    The circle of life.

it happens.. the past year in Australia we have been having problems with the amount of sharks in close to land. While there is a misconception that there are more sharks at the moment it is actual due to the warm water currents which in the past few years have been circulating closer to land. This combined with fishing boats putting out burly (like putting out chum stuff) to attract the fish these creatures are becoming more tolerant and used to the boats and humans closure to land. I find it horrible that these amazing animals are being killed for something they played no part in. Yes they are predators to humans but its instinctual

When you go to Straddie make sure you have all your affairs in order, there are no shark nets…

  7. 7

I got married on that beach. It's gorgeous there.

  8. 8

That's a big shark !! He/She needs much more things to munch on to fill up its tummy.

The chances of being a victim of a shark attack are so miniscule and even more so if you are neither in a wetsuit or on a surfboard. The great white can be found places you would not even think of and they commonly cannibalize each other. Also 20 feet long is not extraordinary.

  11. 11

the reporter at the beach is HOT!! haha

  12. 12

    Shark eat shark.
    Dog eat dog.
    Such is life.

  13. 13

    Yikes! It's gone cannibal!

Re: ap076 – Hahahaha. It's so simple when you don't live here & swim in these waters. Yes, many people who've been menaced by sharks (on boats, surfboards, kayaks etc) often say things like…"Yeah, that 5 metre shark was unextraordinary, I fully didn't shit my pants" Here's a little cut & paste of the last fatal shark attack in the same area this unextraordinary 5 metre sweetie is currently cruising:

Sarah Kate Whiley, 21, from Brisbane's north, was attacked at Amity Point at North Stradbroke Island east of Brisbane that afternoon as she swam in waist-high water.

In an horrific attack, Ms Whiley was mauled by up to three bull sharks, which ripped both her arms from her body and bit into her torso and legs.

Two fishermen dragged Ms Whiley out of the water onto the beach, before she was airlifted to a Brisbane hospital where she died of shock and massive blood loss.

I was saying to myself "what the hell is Ryan Reynolds doing in this video?! " The guy looks like him! LOL!!

i live sunshine coast queensland LETS GET TO THE BEACH :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! actually i never go swiming at teh beach its there habitat not mine and they sneak up very quickly. let them live where they want and ill swim at a swiming hole or pool

  17. 17

oh well. while its tradgic that a few people get bitten every year (around 5 per year usually, i think) thats not so bad considering millions of us go swimming at beaches all round australia every day.

i live in queensland (near straddie) im not concerned. if you live in australia and on the coast, this is just part of life.

  18. 18

Re: BatchStoleMyID – Did he say they were? They may not be "out" to eat people, but that doesn't mean they won't fucking do it.

  19. 19

crazy australia… sharks, spiders, scorpions, whatever else…

  20. 20

    I miss 7 news :(

  21. 21

  22. 22

Re: jeezlouise – Snakes, jellyfish, Mick out at Wolf Creek & cassowaries - a bird that can break bones with a kick or eviscerate or dismember you with the talons on its feet.

  23. 23

um sharks can eaisly attack humans so get the facts straight bactchstolemyid..

  24. 24

Thats what I miss about living in Darwin. No sharks there, because the crocs eat them.

  25. 25

    Re: BatchStoleMyID

most sharks aren't out to eat humans, yeah, but often in hunger or confusion (they sometimes perceive the silhouette of people on surfboards to be seals) they will take a bite out of you anyway. this could be a limb or part of your torso, they may not continue to eat you (they don't tend to like the taste of humans there are many cases of amputation) but the chances are very high you die of shock or bloodloss. those of us who live in australia are very aware of this. it happens more often that you think.

so yeah i would be wary of a shark that size.

Re: ap076 – When I said 20 feet is not extraordinary I meant these monsters can even be bigger. I read Sarah's story from 4 years ago and it is tragic. I think you made a great point about shark nets where these beasts frequent. But if we stay out of the water then the terrorists…….um I mean the sharks win. Hope things are well down under, gearing up for summer I suppose.

  27. 27

This is why I never swim at the beach anymore, even with the shark nets.

  28. 28

Glad I done nevva go in da water

  29. 29

thats crazy? i think the fact that ur still the size of a house is crazy.

  30. 30

GAH!! i hate sharks like for real… im sooo afraid. i wouldnt get in the water for years after i saw a documentary E about different shark attacks. I mean i know its very very unlikely but still.

  31. 31

Re: ap076 – Cheers ap076. Yep, it's beautiful in Summer, but because it usually lasts about 5mths, by the end of it you're ready to move to Alaska.

  47. 47

Re: gmpzz! – okay good, i read through the comments and saw i wasn't the only one who thought the guy at theend of the video was hot!

  48. 48

    its JAWS bitch!

  49. 49

Re: MarthaKicks – i live in queensland and i was at the beach about a month ago.

shark attacks are rare and when they happen, they tend to be in unguarded areas in australia.

there's more chance of being bitten by a spider than attacked by a shark.

  50. 50

    Re: MarthaKicks

Doesn't stop anyone from Queensland, The Beach Bum state. I heart Noosa.

  51. 51

I was at Cylinder beach last weekend LOL.. :S

  52. 52

How HOT is the reporter!!! How do I see more of him!?

  53. 53

Re: ap076 – Yeah ap076 summer is about to start. If one lives in Sydney they have many safe beaches to swim at, sharks are in their enviornment.
If u ever come to Sydney Dec-March temps r in high 30's and humidity usually hovers @ 90% at times.
    Enjoy winter

  54. 54

Ok the news guy his a hottie! No ring on his finger either! I must just be horny and ready for some action!

  55. 55

    The bite looks photoshopped :/

  56. 56

Re: BatchStoleMyID – I'm just calling you out for being a fucking mentally deficient bitch. Somebody had to.

  61. 61

    that photo is sooooooooo photoshopped

  62. 62

Re: misstam – Actually, white sharks are cannibalistic before they are even born. When the 1st egg hatches in the womb it will eat the other eggs and any smaller white sharks that hatch after. Its called cannibalistic vivipory. just a bit o' trivia.

  63. 63

  64. 64

LOL i think its a good idea the QLD govt decided NOT to get rid of the barrier that separates the whales from the beach. noone wants a 6 metre shark near them at the beach!
