New Testimony: Anna Nicole's Doctor Excessively Prescribed Drugs (No Shiz!)

One of Anna Nicole Smith's doctors, Sandeep Kapoor, prescribed high dosages of Dilaudid, methadone and other sedatives to the late model. Dilaudid is described as "hospital heroin" and is an extremely dangerous drug, having the ability to stop people from breathing.
Kapoor was treating Smith for pain when her disease was mostly mental. He made visits to her home while she was on bed rest for a rib injury and continued to provide Anna with inappropriate amounts of medication for her particular ailment.
Although Kapoor wrote that he was "tapering off" the dosage of Dilaudid for Anna, records show that the dosages only increased. He only discontinued distribution of the drug to Anna at the end of that year, likely because of her infamous intoxicated appearance at the American Music Awards.
He also did not supply Anna with sedatives while she was pregnant, but after she was released Dr. Kapoor began writing prescriptions for her once again. Dr. James Gagne testified at Kapoor's trial saying:
"They're excessive. They're without medical basis, and they fly in the face of treatments. One presumes it was in response to requests from the patient for medication."
Sad, sad.

Hospital Heroin? Are you fucking kidding me? Dilaudid is THE drug of choice in Canada for pain management. Any opioid has the potential to decrease breathing rate. Way to pass on that misinformation, moron.

When I read anything related to Anna Nicole Smith I feel so sorry for her. It was a sad end because first she lost her beloved son, days after giving birth to a baby that she wasnt even sure who the father was. And then she became surrounded by shady people (Hello Howard!) who was always drugging her instead of helping her. I think she died that day when her son died. She was the one who saw him dead (she tought he was asleep) so it must be a trauma impossible to forget. People should let her rest in peace and protect her little girl from things like that.

Re: hrosv – I agree. "Hospital Heroin" is WAYYYY over the top when describing dilaudid!! I'm an amputee and have been on IV dilaudid in the hospital not to mention I still take oral at home. I have 2mg, 4mg, and 8mg pills depending on the level of pain for the day. He's a complete idiot for saying that. It's one of the only opiates hospitals use because morphine makes you sick and most people have horrible reactions to fentanyl. Perez doesn't research he just spews shit out on his page. He sucks anymore.

It's amzaing to me how pretty she was the few years before she died and yet she was treating her body so badly.
Ahhh I miss Anna! She was one of a kind!
She asked for it and she got it, but that in no way diminishes the greater responsibility the MD's had to not over-subscribe. I would like to see some jail time for these MDs as well as for Stern for feeding her the meds.
