Nobody seems to care about Nicole Richie and her growing family!
People magazine, which usually sells 1.4 million copies a week, just barely cracked the 1 million mark with the Nicole Richie baby cover, making it one of the worst-selling issues of the year!
And People supposedly paid in the mid six-figures for the pics.
Ouch!
This happens at the heels of one of their best-selling issues with Jaycee Dugard on the cover, which sold 2 million copies.

Wow…selling a million covers is considered sucking. hahahaha…in this economy and with the ease of getting gossip online rather than paying for a magazine, they should be thrilled they are still selling a million magazines PER WEEK. To make that sound like a bad thing, is really quite stupid in my opinion. BTW…LOVE Nicole and her baby is the cutest thing since my son was a baby!

Look…I'm really happy for her, and I think it's awesome that she turned her life around. The fact is, she is another person who famous for nothing. She's just the child of a wealthy, well-known man, who has never had to work. I don't think she has any relevance in terms of pop culture.
Why the hell was she on the cover anyway? The Simple Life ended how many yars ago? What has she been doing in the interim except starving, getting arrested and having kids by some idiot who made "punk" music for 12 year olds? Oh, and of course, her shitty fashion line.

I love Nicole and bought the magazine. The article was wonderful and I'm very surprised it didn't sell. Nicole has really turned her life around for the better and I admire her for that.

well honestly i think the picture they used for the cover has A LOT to do with it! they should have hired someone to do her hair it looks so flat and boring and maybe she should have worn something with color! in other words the cover was tooo BLAH lookin!
Its pretty sad because for once the mother looks like a mother and not some glammed up perky lady. Though I must say its great to see someone who seemed so stuck up fall into complete motherhood.

Nicole is a total nobody and usually I pass right by your posts on her. She's the ONLY one I normally never read about but this CAUGHT MY EYE. Why is she still talked about? She was only interesting with Paris Hilton and when she got anorexia but she's a boring mommy that does nothing that should be considered intriguing. Having babies doesn't cut the mustard in terms of gossip.

I agree that it's good to show a woman looking natural on a cover, and definitely think her kids are cute. Hate hearing mean comments about kids.
I do want to say that a lot of *normal* people turn their lives around with A LOT less money to do it, and they don't end up getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in magazine covers. It's hard to relate to people like this. They want to seem so normal, but they're really wealthy, probably have help, etc.

You can't compare it to the Jaycee Duggard story…those were very anticipated pictures. We have seen pictures of this baby before from paparazzi photos, so it is not the same, or even close. I had to run out and buy the Jaycee Duggard issue, too!
