Dannii Minogue Breaks Down In Tears! Talks Kylie's Cancer and Failed Marriage
In a TV interview with Piers Morgan, X Factor judge Dannii Minogue was brought to tears as she discussed her divorce, big sister Kylie's cancer and the possibility of having children.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On her 1994 marriage to Nip-Tuck actor Julian McMahon:
“He was a wild guy, he liked having fun, being a bit crazy and goofy and we enjoyed each other’s friends. And for me, I thought that’s all you want out of a relationship. I really wish I could see what some of those other people saw, that, ‘this isn’t going to work’. I so wish I had a magic ball.”On why the marriage ended:
“I don’t think there’s any one thing. We’re very different, but I felt like a failure and I hate that. I thought, ‘How could I have not seen it coming, the marriage not working?’”On the breakup:
“I felt scared. It wasn’t about trusting others… I didn’t trust my instincts.” And asked if sheOn her Playboy shoot:
“It was liberating. I thought ‘Damn, you look alright.’ It was their biggest seller.”On news that Kylie had cancer:
“All I wanted to do was get inside the door and see my gorgeous sister and hug her and it was like trying to get through these barriers… because everybody loves Kylie and wanted to know, ‘Is she ok?’ But as a family member it made it more difficult. You just go to another depth. I would describe it, rather than closeness, a depth.”On wondering if Kylie's disease would win:
“No. I never thought of it. You don’t. The proper one is the five-year all-clear, we’re not there yet. In my head it’s not going to come back.”On having kids:
“I’ve never been maternal. I almost thought I was going to escape it, and now I’m in a relationship that is just so right, maybe I have to think about it.”

What is it about the effing women who use the TV interview as a confessional, emotional blackmail - whatever all fake tears and snot and hard times.Do they honestly think nobody but them have a tough time in life.? The interview this is from is called "life stories" talking about their lives, she isnt dragging up kylie illness for sympathy you insensative wankers. its part of her life so she is going to talk about it if asked.
perez she said she did the playboy shoot because she was in alot of debt and didnt want to ask kylie for the money. you make out she loved doing it, when in fact she says she couldnt look in her fathers eyes for weeks, but did it because she had.

I hate it when some idiots start to say 'everyone got problems blah blah blah' and ask a troubled person to snap out of their own problems. Just because there is a war in the Middle East or children dying out of hunger in Africa doesn't mean that your sister being in an early stage of cancer is a worthless problem. It is very normal for Dannii to feel scared at that time.

Her information about cancer is incorrect. If it's estrogen-receptor positive cancer (which it probably was, given that 3/4 of tumors are), the risk remains the same for the rest of the person's life…unchanged. There's even a slight spike between years 5 and 7 after diagnosis. The risk doesn't decline and as I'm sure she did know, it's higher when the woman is younger than 40 at diagnosis ;-(….medication does reduce risk, and you take that for five years; but the risk of recurrence will be the same 20 years from now as it is at this exact moment. No idea where she got that "five years in the clear" notion; it's not true ;-(
