Disaster? Kelly Clarkson Working On Something "Different" For Next Album
Kelly Clarkson revealed in a new radio interview that she's already begun working on her 5th studio album and says that it's going to be "really different."
Uh, oh. She's made that mistake before! Remember the disaster that was My December?
Kelly also said she may not have time to write the whole album as she's touring to promote her latest album All I Ever Wanted until March 2010.
"If I end up liking stuff that I've done then I'll include it, but if I like other stuff better I'll use that. Sometimes you're just more inspired I guess, and sometimes if you have records that come ou really close together it might be more other people's songs. Because there's not enough time to write and sing and perform and do everything."
It's good to have others helping you, Kelly. Hopefully you can reach a happy medium, but make sure you heed your label's advice!

my december wasn't good, but her latest was.
the singles off my december werent anything hugely different and all the tracks on her new album sound the same, shes got a good voice but needs better songs
Perhaps mario's Mom or Sissy can help write some of Kelly's new songs and inject some of their extensive vocabulary into the lyrics…

my december was actually really good but never given a chance. either way a happy medium is always good. the media makes her look like a pain in the ass to her label, but they've been assholes to her too. she rocks and her next cd probably will too
See now, I loved My December, I still listen to it. I wouldn't mind seeing her do a bluesy album either, as the other poster stated.
My December, in my opinion, was her best album. Sure, it didn't have any massive hits, nor was the album a great seller itself. That doesn't mean it was a disaster, Perez. I highly doubt you've ever listened to the album.
My December is MY FAVORITE Kelly Clarkson album. I enjoy all of her albums but that one was so personal, it took you on an emotional journey. Yes it wasn't for the mainstream public but I think that more people will appreciate it over time. I can't wait to see what she does with her next album. This girl can sing anything. =)
Perez you need to shut up since you don't know what you're talking about. The label hated the "Breakaway" cd and didn't want her to write any songs. But Kelly put her foot down and got it made her way. I think the "My December" cd was really good. Unfortunately the label decided to sabotage her with bad publicity and poor marketing. If people gave it a chance they would find that there are some really good songs on it. Also I think "My December" has sold more or about the same as "All I Ever Wanted".

I love Kelly! All I ever wanted is amazing, and My December wasn't a major seller but did have some great songs o it. She is amazing and can do any kind of genre.

Its time for J Records to cut their losses and drop her from the label. She is no longer marketable and her music is lackluster as indicated by her sales. She is also a troublesome artist who is disrespectful to the best executive in the music industry Clive Davis and it is time they stop investing time and money in a losing artist who is not capable of a comeback. Kind of like Whitney Houston same label same scenario not capable of a comeback both are washed up and need to seek employment elsewhere but not as an entertainer in the music industry. "My December" might have had some rough spots, but it also had a few of the best songs she's ever done. Good for her for always wanting to change it up — I respect her more when there are some rough spots than when it's all cookie-cutter pop rock.

I don't think My December was a failure by any means. That CD reached people in ways unimaginable. She wrote a CD that was extremely relatable and brilliant. Her words drip genius. You can't honestly say that they don't. She's an absolute genius when it comes to writing, and her voice is like gold. Kelly's got many talents, and she exudes them all splendidly. The songs Kelly writes are always my favorites merely because they speak to your heart, soul, and mind, not just your ears. You can feel it along with hearing it. I love Kelly's writing, her albums, her songs, her voice, and her mind. I can't wait to hear what's next from the fabulous Miss Kelly Clarkson.
