We're actually surprised it has taken this long for this movie to get made!
What teenage girl didn't play with a Ouija board at their slumber parties?!
Universal Studios is looking to create "a supernatural action-adventure movie" based off the mystical board and they have hired some big names to ensure that it won't come off as terribly hokey.
Tron Legacy and Lost writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, respectfully, will pen the flick.
This either could be really good or completely corny.

There was a movie made back in 1986 called Withboard, about an Ouija board. Starred Tawny Kitaen and sucked horribly. I am hope this one doesn't suck as bad or at all.
The apex of the Ouija board's film career was when it appeared in "Paranormal Activity".

In the eighties there was a movie called "Witchboard" about the ouija board. It was a cult movie at the time. Guess it's not anymore if no one remembers it. I think it also had a sequel or two. But I'm sure this new one will be about the same: what happens when you use it, how to destroy it, etc. It has definitely been done before though.

Wasn't this already done? Witchboard, witches something like that? Years ago in the 90's. I remember it because my hubby and I watched it and then went to bed only to wake up together later that night feeling like someone was staring at us. Kinda freaky *lol*

Wasn't The Exorcist based on the Ouija board? There are a few movies dealing with the subject. Look wikipedia. Bunshinsaba is one. Making a movie about the Ouija board is less bad than playing with it. Maybe there is a lot of evil in this world because too many people play with Ouija. I really do mean: when was the last time you met a good and honest person? So fuckin rare these days.

I think it's a good way to introduce a whole new generation to a completely stupid scary way to communicate with the dead. Ouija boards work, dammit!
We do seem to see a lot of the "alternative" side of the life-ship these days. The "alternative" always seems to end in an excruitiating, horrible, gory death followed by eternal damnation in a fiery pit. My life is a bit different . I also can't help but notice that all sorts of terrorizing and horrifying is done via the media; and the "hope" of eternal life being attained by living a kind; faith-filled, productive and honour-filled life is being somewhat minimized in the media today. Hey, Hugh Jackman took me to enough horror movies while we "dated" in high school to last me the rest of my life. My favorite was American Werewolf in London. Hughie and I were falling out of our chairs with laughter. Raise some dead guys lately anyone? Anyone?

When you start playing with that evil thing you open a porthole of evil and demons…. I know it sounds silly but i witnessed it. Once I started praying while my sister and her friends were playing and the thing stoped moving.. Everyone was like WTF, they didn't know i was praying until i left the room and the thing told them then started talking shit about me and how it didn't like me.. When it gets mad it starts making a figure 8 and really fast! Anyway, this movie is a BAD idea and peaple shouldn't use it!! I know someone is going to make fun of me and talk shiz.. go ahead it doesn't bother me but hopefully most of you guys get the picture.

Re: ballonknot – Very true.. It’s scary stuff to mess with the supernatural.. I love horror movies and I do fine watching them.. EXCEPT for ghostly movies… I usually have trouble sleeping and I am super freaked out. The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, etc.. super evil and scary but very good movies. I will watch all scary supernatural movies because I am intrigued. Lol. Therefore, I say make the movie and hopefully people learn to not mess with stuff you cannot control.

Seriously..this is scary/demonic stuff. I remember as well messing around with this as a child..and weird things happened that are almost unbelievable. It is pure evil. I think if that movie is made, people will start experimenting and bad things will happen. Enough said.

Was watching Ghost Hunters marathon this weekend. They said they are against using the Quija Board as you are letting something in to possess you and control the movement of the board and that's dangerous, therefore they don't recommend. Interesting…
