How the hell did it get in there?!?!

A large, black BAT made an impromptu appearance at the Spurs vs. Kings game on Halloween night!

While most people were damn scared of the animal, Manu Ginobili didn't sweat it. In fact, he swatted it right out of the sky!

Whoa!

      We have some huge bat colonies around here and bats are always found in buildings and other structures where they squeeze themselves in to sleep during the day and hunt at night. This has happened before there and they get someone to drive him to the nearest bridge and let him go… dont Freak People. Its common practice around here!

In fact, Manu is currently taking rabies shots (he had four today and has eight more to go) because the bat got away before they could test it for rabies. The bat lives and got away, so please calm down. You can all call off the PETA manhunt~ Haha.

      Actually birds get in there all the time. I've seen a few at every game. The bat was new but they are pretty common here so no huge surprise! It happened on Halloween though! Pretty creepy! The best part was that the Coyote was prepared with a net and all!

      I can't believe how daft Manu was to try and kill the bat! People were already moving to handle the situation and he made it worse by attacking the bat, and likely harming it even if it flew away (it probably dropped dead after awhile from both shock and the hit). Serves him right for having to get rabies shots. By the way, bats are way cool and very important to the ecosystem. They are our main weapon against pesky summer bugs. Put a bat house up in a tree or two in your backyard and enjoy a bug-free summer night!

      I watched the local (San Antonio) news last night and no he didn't kill the bat. He swatted at it and it fell to the ground. He picked it up and handed it to someone who took it outside.
      Then, Manu ended up with the first of four rabies shots on Monday. Team doctors said it would be a good idea, but no he didn't kill it. In fact, his act may have saved it from someone who would have.

      Oh and the weather here that night was perfect for the bats. Cool and clear.
      There's a cave about 15-20 miles from the AT&T center where millions of bats live. My guess is when the doors were propped open as the crowds came in, a bat swept in. It's also possible the bat has been there for a few days, but as a publicity stunt, it would be a lawsuit nightmare so I'm going to say no to that one.

      OK Boys & Girls, he didn't kill the bat, he knocked it out and it was let go outside the stadium. He is actually having to take a series of shots cuz they werent sure if the bat had rabies. It wasnt a publicity stunt the bat had been in the stadium since the previous night during a Hockey game in the AT&T center.       I live in San Antonio and have gone to many Spurs game and most people don't realize that there are a lot of bats in San Antonio especially where the AT&T center is, dont worry the bat didnt die, Ginobili even said he felt the bat moving and the maintanence worker even said he let it free outside. Its a bad people they have rabies, it was a good thing he got it or else other people besides Ginobili would be getting rabies shots right now.
