Finally! A song off RiRi's upcoming release that we actually like!
THIS should have been the first single!
The song is called Hard and it features Young Jeezy. We're told it was purposefully leaked online after second single, Wait Your Turn, was met with disappointment and first single, Russian Roulette, failed to catch on at radio or with digital sales.
It is obvious that Rihanna is going in a very different direction musically than she did in her last album - and all her previous albums before that too.
We're not sure we love this new direction, though.

This song is very annoying and too repetitive. She needs POP songs. Remember Kelly Clarksons' album My December tanked because she wanted to branch out and do something different.
Well Rihanna's album will tank.

I have been a RiRi fan since she first came out. I have all her albums. I am sad to say that I will not be getting this one. The 1st single I liked although I feel it was a TERRIBLE 1st single choice. The 2nd, I utterly hated and forgot about it WHILE I was listening to it. Trash. This song is only a fraction better than the 2nd. So that means I listened to it and completely forgot it by now. I never said RiRi had the best voice, if anything I said her voice was BELOW average, but it has a cute sound to it. I think her backing music is now on the same level as her vocals. And honestly, that's just a scary thought. RiRi will be in trouble. Maybe she should focus on stop being a fame whore profiting off her fans(re-issue GGGB as a remix album that was just CRAP and not releasing the rest of the songs WTF?!) just to profit and actually sit back and release some GOOD QUALITY material.
it's definitely better than the first single she tried and marginally better than the second… but, i ask, is that really saying much? this album deserves to tank…
It's a little better than the others songs, but still not that good. I can't stand her voice though.

It's just an "ok" song until the rapper starts - then it gets much worse and very stereotypical with calling out all the brand names - geez!
Maybe a good DJ can mix it and take out the rapper - that might improve it a bit for club play but it's not a strong song for radio.

It's alright… but not something I'd buy and I'd keep surfing through radio stations if this were on. It's not catchy enough, and it sounds like she's half asleep while singing.

I love this!! Look, she's just been thru a really strange, awful year. It SHOULD be dark. Hella dark! You're all nuts if you expect her to sound like she used to. She had her dreams and her faced shattered by somebody who was supposed to LOVE her, then had all her secrets and shame paraded out in public and dissected and discussed by the ENTIRE WORLD. She is a different person after that, as she should be… and like any artist she needs to explore the new situation she finds herself in. Why do people always get whiny when artists grow and change?

I think it's brave and ambitious for her to go in the darker more rock-tinged, minor key direction. This is what's missing in today's music: risk-taking! The only one who really took risks as a pop artist was Madonna. She went in directions that weren't seen as very popular but she made it work. Not sure if Rihanna has the ambition herself to make this work tho. She needs to work on her dance moves and stage presence…Without those, you really have nothing but singles and videos and you won't last long with those (especially since albums hardly sell anymore).

I have been underwhelmed with the last 3 songs. I recommend going back to the studio and coming out with something better. I personally can't see these songs catching on.
I don't like the song, the yeah yeah parts in the song are annoying. I think she needs more time to heal. I was hoping for something better from her. Chris Brown's album will probably end up being better than this! I don't like the "new" weird Rihanna!!

It is a little better than the first two I heard, but honestly it is nothing special…I wasn't intrigued enough to listen to it the whole way through so it must not be that great after all…
I can not say that I am at all anticipating this album. From what I have seen from her and heard thus far, it sounds like a rushed, half ass, sloppy album that her label wanted to put out b4 the end of the yr because we all know artists drop albums during this time of the yr…it's when they sell the most for the holidays etc. Don't think that just because you prance around and are the focus of the paparazzi that you can put out music that is far from quality music. I'm a fan of Rhianna's last album but I doubt Ill be purchasing this one…it's just so sloppy so far…3 out of 10 tracks maybe 11 or 12 if were lucky sound this shitty then the odds are against us…her label should stop leaking songs cause it def isn't working in her favor like it did for Wayne (he had a quality/effort-filled album unlike R)…
