Kevin Williamson Screams Details Of Next Film

By now, most of you have heard that the Scream franchise is rising from the ashes, with original castmembers Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette attached to finish the job they started.
What you didn't know, and what we have just learned ourselves, is that this comeback is to usher in a brand new TRILOGY of Scream movies, with some brand new faces added to the mix.
Kevin Williamson, writer of the original and upcoming Scream flicks, provided some more details as to what audiences will see in the next installments:
"It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in [Sidney Prescott's hometown of] Woodsboro. We'll have our three main characters, and we'll be introducing several more…We'll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new castmembers. That'll take us through the next three."
Scream 4, which is being coincidingly written with Scream 5, will be somewhat spoof-heavy, as it seems clear that being "self-referential" is no longer plausible.
Kevin explains:
"I guess I'll just have to be very aware of the fact that we're a '4' and that we're beating a dead dog. I'm going to make that very apparent in the dialogue… Come on. It's the age of the remake! And 3-D and all that [other horror fad material], can you imagine what ['Scream' movie-within-a-movie] 'Stab 10' is like?"
It maybe like beating a dead dog, but we know tons of people who will lining up to see it anyway.

perez, i hate to criticise you but this is seriously old news, this was on english website digital spy months ago. however, i can't wait to see the film, i didnt see any of the others in the cinema as i was too young, but omg i wouldn't miss this for the world

The irony is falling flat this time. Scary Movie already did this sort of thing to death. Bet you anything scream 5+ will all be direct to DVD.
Eri there's now way that Drew Barrymore could return to the franchise since she was one of the first (the 2nd) people to die in the FIRST movie! So it wouldnt matter if she had nothing on … its hard to bring back a character that was gutted and hung from a tree… just saying…
Perez. This was reported by aintitcoolnews.com and esplatter.com about, oh, a month ago. It's sweet you think everyone goes to you first with the "gossip scoop" but the truth is a significant amount of your readers know most of this before you post it. It's fine if you want to report it, but stop acting like you're the first person to know stuff.
If Skeet Ulrich isn't in it, then I don't give a shit about seeing it. He was so hot and totally made that movie for countless teen girls. You just loved him and totally wanted to "save" him, even though you were supposed to hate him. It came on DirectTV over the weekend and I watched it again; I still have a thing for him at 27! haha.

This is old news. We knew it was gonna be a whole new trilogy. It was all over the internet when the Cox- Arquette's signed on to the project. When to go on reporting old news dumbass.
I dunno, I loved the first two but I was 14 when the first one came out. It was scary as fuck back then. When I look at it now it's kinda boring and cheesy.
I can't wait!!……….. maybe they will finally kill off Neve Campbell her air puff pauses drive me crazy.
Well I love the first two movies, 3 was a bit weak, but still it's so awesome to have them all three back:)

I think they need to cut all the "spoof" out and make a straight-forward horror movie. And please do not kill off the three original cast members.

I'm so excited! The Scream movies are some of my favorite movies!! I've been waiting for this forever. I'm glad Neve has decided to do it though b/c last I heard she had turned it down. It just wouldn't be Scream without her.
