At first, i was wondering how she was getting #1 hits, since her songs arent THAT great. Then i realized that she really has no competition. She has no one to compete with, so she just gets to number 1. When Britney debuted, she has Xtina, Destiny's Child, Backstreet Boys, N'sync, etc etc. competing and they were all GREAT! Same with generations before like MJ, Madonna, Cher, etc etc. Each one had to work sooo hard to get the #1 hit and i feel like it was a greater achievement.
Even now look how easy it was for Britney to DEBUT at number 1. Times has seriously changed. So congrats Gaga, but I think that if you had more competition, you might not have had as many #1s

So, I just went over to the billboard charts and I was not able to find "Bad Romance" in any of the charts. Where is this guy getting his information from…can someone please let me know??? p.s. how DARE people compare Lady GaGa to Britney Spears??? Lady Gaga is extremely eccentric, intelligent, musicially gifted, vocally talented, and educated. There IS NO COMPARISON. I'm so tired of people bashing Lady Gaga. She has TREMENDOUS raw talent, of which has been sorely lacking in the music industry. She is so unique and a breath of fresh air. Britney spears is (or was) a wonderful entertainer, however she peaked and is now on the decline. Let's face it, shaking your bootie to teeny bopper songs is NOT going to fly at age 35, and unlike Madonna, she simply does not have that unique 'it' factor to keep her in the game. On the other hand Lady Gaga's musical capability alone encompasses longevity. It's seriously time for people to start showing her respect.

Back then, singles cost about $3.00 a pop and people had to get themselves to the store to buy a record…Nowadays it's like ANYONE can get a Hot 100 #1 Song just because of digital downloads which cost .99 to 1.29 per song…Back in the day artists would sell Multi-Million albums…So really, I am not that impressed with artists these days, for god sake Owl City is #1 on the Hot 100!!!!!! I'm not a fan personally of Lady Gaga but there is no denying she is musically gifted! That said, her song writing skills are quite dire! She should look to Madonna who is an incredibly talented song writer or even Britney who has written some great songs! Singing about a "disco disc" doesn't really cut it!

Britney, Janet Jackson, Kylie and Roisin Murphy have done for years!!! How long has Lady Gaga been around??
