At Least 7 People Dead! Shooting At Ford Hood In Texas

More unnecessary violence.
After a brutal shooting at the Ford Hood military base in Texas at least 7 people have been found dead and 12 have been wounded. It is not known at this time if the victims are soldiers or civilians.
One gunman is reportedly in custody but the other is still running loose. It is also possible that there is a third gunman involved as a man was seen opening fire at the SWAT team on the base!
The base and all Fort Hood schools are now on lockdown.
These senseless acts of violence have to stop!

the army actually released about 30 minutes ago that there are atleast 20 wounded, possibly 30 but not confirmed, there was a graduation on the base today so there were more civilians than usual, and the fbi tactics team is on there way down to ft hood

I was on Fort Hood today forty-five minutes before the shooting happened. Very scary. All of the schools and Fort Hood are on lock down

Re: SWEETPIECE! – Yeah Sweetpiece, the way the NRA reacts to any sensible restrictions on gun ownership while still protecting 2nd amendment rights is so wrong. It reminds me of how the National Organization for Women argues against even the most sensible abortion restrictions like requiring parental permission for minors.
We can limit the guns out there while still allowing for safe gun ownership.
Simple math, the western civilized nation with the least restrictions on gun purchasing (as well as the most guns purchased) has both the highest murder rate and the highest percentage if it's population in jail.
We are doing something wrong here and it has nothing to do with our "cowboy culture" of the 19th and early 20th century because Canada and Australia had these as well and have no such problems with gun deaths. Again, Sensible gun control, waiting periods and no loopholes. No matter the cause of this tragedy in Texas. God Bless.

I AM in the army, and am an MP. puhlease….refrain from jumping to conclusions. Until it is known for sure what exactly what happened and who did it, it is extremely unfair to pass judgement on the army community as a whole. While the army is big, it is a very small family and we do our best to take care of one another. It may very well be a soldier who did this, but that person does not represent the rest of us. Try to see the big picture and realize that while you think you understand what challenges soldiers face, you really have no FUCKING idea.

My parent's live there and my dad is on the Ft. Hood Base daily. In fact he is supposed to by flying in to the airport as we speak. This is scary to say the least.
You would think once you knew it was an Army base, you would have immediately known it was a Fort, doofus.

Worst day of my life. Imagine having your husband in the middle of it all while you sit a few blocks away just watching it happen. I was on post visiting a friend and now im completely traumatized. Please everyone pray for all of us that were on post today and pray for the families of those who were killed (12 people) and those who were wounded (31).

They have only confirmed one shooter. He is a Major and a recent convert to Islam. He was eventually gunned down and is in stable condition in custody.
There has been one main gunman confirmed. He is a Major and is an Army psychologist or psychiatrist. 13 people have died so far, 30 are injured. He was gunned down by police and was thought to be dead but has survived and is in stable condition. He is a recent convert to Islam and was seen handing out qu'rans before the attack. 12 of the deceased were soldiers, one was a policeman. Very sad.

Oh, this is sad! 12 killed and 31 injured. One is from my city. But she survived and called her parents during the shooting. The parents could hear loud noise and screaming then her phone went dead. Now that would have freaked me out! God bless those family are affected and give them strength. I've never heard of anything like this happening on a Army Base. God Bless America!
My husband was stationed at Ft.Hood TX for 5 years. He just left a month ago and moved to Germany. My son and I just left Ft.Hood, 2 days ago for Germany.. I cant believe this happened. I pray for all the victims and their families and everyone on base..

13 people died in yesterday’s shooting, 29 victims survived and remain in stable condition at area hospitals
There was only 1 gun man Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who survived and is hospitalized on a ventilator.
