Fox News At The Top

Fox News won over the ratings Tuesday night with their election coverage. Unfortunately!
According to the Nielsen ratings, they brought in 1.1 million among the news' target demographic of 25-54 year olds.
And coming in at a distant second was MSNBC with 974,000 viewers, followed by HLN with 842,000, and CNN with 826,000.
Fox News also received an increase of 84% in total viewers compared to their primetime average this year so far.
CNN must be thrilled!

Perez, Fox News plugs into the sentiments of a lot of Americans. I'm sure even people with opposing view points check it out. I think you should go on one of the shows sometime (not that your current audience isn't large in and of itself) and let your voice be heard on the issues that matter to you. Fox often welcomes opposing view-points and it would be a nice platform for you to let your voice be heard. Don't hate it. Use it to your advantage.

It just goes to show what mindless amoeba the mainstream public is. They would rather hear news reported as lies than get the facts. I'm strictly NPR and BBC from now on, I actually care what's going on in the world and want the truth.

WOW I am glad that the white house announced that Fox News was not a real News Organization. Looks like American has different views on that.

Actually, if anyone here reads REAL news too, many Democrats say it's more balanced than MSNBC and CNN for the other side!! Lots of Dems came out in SUPPORT of Fox. Is everyone on there great - hell no. But if even the Dems will defend most of it… there's something to it.
It is so funny how Obama denounced Fox News as an unreliable news source. Ha! Look whose on top now. Although, I will admit they do lean to the right, it seems much more balanced and unbiased than other news organizations.

Believe it or not, Fox News was also the most fair during the presidential election, who was 40% positive on Obama and 40% positive on McCain. MSNBC was the least fair, 80% positive on Obama and 80% negative on McCain. But then again, McCain wasn't conservative enough for Fox News so that may explain the balance.

I have to laugh when I read the libs trashing Fox News for being just right-wing propaganda. First of all, Fox has straight news programming, and then they have commentary like OReilly and Hannity. Yes, the commentators WILL give their conservative opinions on topics, but will almost ALWAYS have liberals with opposing views on to debate them - something you will RARELY see on MSNBC or CNN, which will almost always be singing the praises of Obama, Pelosi and Reid without presenting ANY opposing views. Fox THRIVES because they WELCOME people that think differently than they do, and WANT to air both sides of an argument. The fact of the matter is that MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the liberal mainstream media are pawns of the liberal politicians, and will rarely - if ever - present them in a negative light, or give an opposing view. I have seen several instances of Hannity and OReilly RIPPING the Bush administration when they felt Bush was wrong. Fox's shows are MUCH more balanced than their competition. Americans see it, and that's why Fox is kicking the other network's asses.

FNC: 4,043,000 in total viewers (1,130,000 in A25-54)
MSNBC: 974,000 in total viewers (308,000 in A25-54)
HLN: 842,000 in total viewers (341,000 in A25-54)
CNN: 826,000 in total viewers (227,000 in A25-54)
I love the fact FOX is exposing the corruption in the Obama Administration! If all Americans watched FOX, we would be a much more informed country. The fact Fox's ratings are up is a clear indicator people are catching on and voting differently - thus Tuesday's Republican sweep!

Which explains the popularity. No issue seems to be researched in depth. No story longer than 3 minutes. The best educated Dem and Rep friends of mine all prefer NPR and BBC.

First of all how is MSNBC's 974k vs. Fox's 1.1 mill coming in at a DISTANT second? That's only a difference of just over 100k. And I would say CNN is the winner since HLN and CNN both are CNN channels..add those 2 together and it beats Fox News!

Wow Perez - you seem to be of the opinion that you are an expert on all things media-related. I'm here to tell you, you're a dunce! I majored in journalism in college and MSNBC is the MOST biased news outlet around - which explains why nobody watches MSNBC. People watch Fox because they get the news - all of it - which is more than you can say for any other news operation. AND it isn't reported in a biased and slanted fashion. So holster your big mouth when it comes to topics about which you know nothing whatsoever, okay?
FOX is the only reason that ABC has somewhat started to get their slanted ass in gear in the last few weeks. I switch between the networks, and FOX by far reports on something way before the other networks bother to pick it up. They deserve the ratings they get.
