Will Oprah Take Her Show To Cable?

It could be a risky move!
Oprah's contract for The Oprah Winfrey Show is up in 2011 and many are wondering whether she'll extend the show in syndication or move it to her highly-anticipated Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on cable?
OWN is a joint venture between Oprah and Discovery Communications and supposedly the chief of Discovery Communications David Zaslav is demanding that Oprah make the move to the new network or lose the deal altogether!
Rumor has it that they will issue a press release in a few days announcing OWN's launch for 2011 and in subsequent weeks O will make the announcement that she's moving the show from Chicago to OWN's LA headquarters beginning in Fall 2011.
We're not sure this is a good idea!
There's a possibility OWN could distribute the show for syndication, but otherwise we have a feeling she'll be seen by a smaller audience if she's only on cable. Her ratings have already fallen by half over the past ten years!
Is Oprah losing steam?
It doesn't really matter in the long-run though, The Big O is worth $2.3 billion!!!

Cable could be a good move to keep it real. Not so sanitized and censored.
Oh Noprah!
…I'm sure it is about the profits. The woman is smart.
Oprah's inability to have her staff look into her medical "expert's" history has totally turned me off. Dr. Jan Adams was the last straw for me. I've had it with her almighty attitude and "can do no wrong" aura. I used to be a huge fan, but Oprah has seemed to forget who she actually is and has started to believe the hype surrounding her. her feet are no longer touching the ground. she deserves to be knocked down a few pegs, that's for sure. stick her on cable so you can free up more time on other channels for better shows - like more Maury!!!
Her shows are soooo boring lately…
i don't know and i don't care cause i never watch this gorilla's show.
She really needs to be off the air or on the QVC at this point. Her topic the other day was on what "accessories make you look thinner". Since she is reduced to doing shows on sheer nonsense that no respectable person in the fashion industry came on that show because it had no credibilty, its time to wrap it up.
Do people still watch Oprah?
Oprah has lost steam because she's way too taken with herself. Wish she'd let some of the old personality back out. Folks are tired of the Mother Teresa thing.
