Matthew Perry turned down a chance to snuggle up to his former Friends costar Courteney Cox on her new series Cougar Town!
"I did ask Matthew if he'd play my boyfriend on the show. He thought it was a little much after Chandler and Monica," said Cox.
We're sure he'd hate to break up his day swimming around in his residual $$$$$ - a la Scrooge McDuck!

I can understand why he wouldn't go on the show to play her BF. That would be stupid because all everyone would see was Mondler. He should come on the show as some other character.

Matthew Perry is a really underrated actor. hes made some shitty choices in movie roles but he makes me laugh. i do wish he was on tv more.

In fairness to him, I can definitely see why he would not want to do that. That would be a little strange, and a bit too much of an extension of Friends.

I really don't playing her bf on a couple of shows would make a difference either way in his career. He obviously doesn't need the money, but when was the last time he did anything? As a "friend", he should do it.
what the hell is wrong with him??!! they need to bring back friends now. but then again, why work when you have twenty or thirty million in the bank and it still roles in from syndication and dvd sales. lets not forget they got a million each for the last two seasons. would any of us go back to work after that, plus be getting loads of media attention. it has been so long since friends that they probably dont get noticed as much, and would like to keep it that way

Matthew Perry has a show in production for ABC, which is why he is not going to be on Cougar Town. No big drama or snub - he's simply busy with his own show. So stay tuned…. Re: bubble gum – God I know..It would be really neat to go back to Friends to see what they have been doing..There are so many things they could do with it..it would be nice to see a movie and hopefully they would all get on board for it.

Friends was the best show, EVER!!! I can see why he doesn't want to do the Chandler/Monica type show again. I thought that she was supposed to be a cougar. He's too old to play her boy-toy. Still love him though.
