Margaux Hemingway: The Movie

Granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway and sister of Mariel, Margaux Hemingway lived a charmed life that was plagued by severe depression, emotional problems and substance abuse.
Sound intriguing? Good, because it's gonna be a movie!
Margaux rose to fame as supermodel in the late 70s and early 80s, becoming the first model to earn a $1 million contract. She was a regular at the debaucherous Studio 54, where her battles with drugs and alcohol began, and claimed to have been abused by her godfather - putting her on the outs with her family.
In 1996, just one day before her grandfather's suicide, Margaux took her own life. She was found in her Santa Monica apartment and died from an overdose of Phenobarbital.
"She rose to fame too quickly. It was all too much for this girl from Ketchum, ID, to land in NY and practically overnight become a supermodel," said one of the few survivors of the Andy Warhol era, Richard Dupont.
Actress Melissa George is said to be portray the supermodel.
Would U see it?!

yep!
«In 1996, just one day before her grandfather's suicide, Margaux took her own life. »
Stupid!!
Just one day before the ANNIVERSARY of her grandfathers suicide. He died in 1961. Try to read the press releases correctly.
yes!
i'd see it, but Charlize Theron would be a perfect match for the role!
Sounds Interesting, did she know Gia (Model) ? who was also rose to fame in the 70's 80's and died at an early age.
It better be a "TV Movie" ’cause nobody pays to see NY Babies suffer; mainly because their suffering is kept as shallow as their silly, indulged lives. Keep the script ready; just change the title and you'll have "Lindsey's Story".
Sounds like "Factory Girl" or 'Gia" but yes i would see it!! (if It's a TV special on Lifetime)
The '70's. Got to love it!
"Just one day before her grandfather's suicide" ??
Ernest Hemingway died in 1961… I think you mean one day before the ANNIVERSARY of her grandfather's suicide.
Melissa George, meh.
No. Sounds like another dumb sob story about some pathetic rich girl from a well-known family. Yawn. People are dying in this country all the time without million dollar contracts and lavish parties.

uh FYI, she did not die one day before her grandfather's suicide - Ernest Hemingway died in 1961, she killed herself in 1996. can't your assistant take two minutes to Wiki this stuff?

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
she looks just like charlize theron. let's hope for her to be the lead.
Idiot. Nice fact checking. Try some grammar and spell checking as well.
charlize theron resembles her so much. she should play her
melissa george? she just does not scream super model to me.
I think Charlize Theron should play her, she looks so much like her.
Ernest Hemingway died in 1961
sounds! sounds juicy
but who is melissa george? charlize theron would be better
Melissa George isn't pretty enough, I agree with everyone saying Charlize Theron.
She was sone knockout in her time. Too bad no one could reach and get her out of her depression and substance abuse. I remember reading about her and her attempts to really try, but sadly she was unsuccessful.
Don't know if I'll go see that one. But, I think there would be a bigger audience draw if they casted Charlize Theron in the role.
wow, she was stunning. yeah id see it
I see it being a TV movie, hopeflly HBO, Showtime - for a more mature/graphic portrayal a la "Gia" with Angelina Jolie. However, Melissa is no Angelina…
Yes! Charlize Theron is the perfect one for the role. For a second, i thought it was her.
I would watch it if It was on Lifetime or HBO. Don't think they should market it in theaters
Thank God Jolie isn't in this. Her expiration date has wayy passed.
First of all, how about giving credit to the late, great, Francesco Scavullo for the flawless photo of what was, a beautiful, sweet, giving person. Yeah, you al can say what you want, but I knew her and she was incredible, lived a grand life in a short time. WAY too much was thrown at her before "getting help" or "rehab" were in our daily vocabulary. I hope they do her justice. RIP Margaux
They should get Charlese Theron to play her - they could be TWINS!!!
she's like Gia…I have loved her always!!! rest in peace Margaux!!!
She is a Gia too!
Sounds interesting! Sure, I'll see it!
never heard of her but WOW she is one of the most beautiful people i have ever seen
What is Americas obsession with terrible actress and models that kill themselves.Marilyn Munroe was a a terrible actress a adultress and a nutjob and you idolize that. The Hemingways were a bunch of pill popping piss tanks.Oh yes I forgot, this the country that thinks the Kennedys are of good stock.
Sounds "Gia" -esque. ( Not that their stories are extremely similar, but the I can see this film giving off the same kind of tone)
Sure why not. Definitely agree with some of the comments… I think they can do better casting-wise.
Who the f is Melissa George? Oh thats right a nobody playing somebody who has a very small following from the early 80s. This movie has success written all over it.
I always thought she was so beautiful. I saw a movie she did called "Lipstick" when I was a kid. It wasn't very good, but she looked stunning in it. It's so sad what severe depression can do.
I'm so there!
She was, by far, the prettiest of the Hemingway women. I remember her saying in an interview it practically killed her inside to see bullfights in Madrid. She would weep for hours. Yet another star that died too young. . .
I guess that was when models were actually pretty. Seems like the big models today have manly faces, like Giselle.
No one could forget Margaux's classic delivery of this line from LIPSTICK:
"He tried to kill me with his cock!"
I had never heard of this woman before but WOW she is beautiful! But who the hell is Melissa George? Never heard of her either. How about Angelina Jolie? I think she'd be good for the role or as people are saying Charlize would be good as well.
Re: ix3perez – wow i typed my comment before reading the ones that had already been posted. these were my thoughts exactly! LOL
YES!!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!
When I first saw the picture i thought it was Charlize Theron!
However i just looked at other pictures of her and she looks more like Melissa
Fame was to much for a girl from Ketchum? what a lame sound-bite. Maybe abuse by her godfather and abandonment by her family and god knows what else is what did it.
Yes I would! I remember her in all of those magazine spreads. She was GORGEOUS!!!
CHARLIZE THERON!!! dead-ringer!
If done correctly, it could be utterly fascinating!
Seriously you went back and fixed a super stupid error or posting 90210 rather than Melrose Place but you won't go back to fix the date of death of one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. Scholarship my ass, NYU hardly, Miami Community College most likely.
He died in 1961 you fucking clueless, ignorant, piece of shit. Did you even go to school?
nice work on this one. you've left nothing to be said. although you didn't need to be so hard on the fact check. great find!
Never thought someone could be that uneducated to even consider the fact that Ernest Hemingway could have died only 13 years ago. Tsts.
Melissa George is not pretty enough to play Margaux Hemingway. She is also way to short, Margaux was really tall. How about Dree Hemingway, her niece??
Watch Lipstick!!!!!! i saw this movie uncensored on tv for some reason late late at night when i was 11!!! it was way to dirty!!! to be on tv!!! even for a late late show!! She gets raped and her little sister gets raped (played by her real life sister) saw it as a grown up it was an ok movie…
charlize theron she looks just like her
