Rihanna Digs Deep And Reveals Painful Details
In the last 24 hours, the world has gotten a glimpse into the now infamous altercation between Rihanna and Chris Brown from Ri herself.
Breaking her silence finally after several months of speculation, Rihanna sat down with Diane Sawyer and in part two of her interview, which aired today, she gives the heart-wrenching details of that fateful night, claiming that while it was all happening, he "had no soul in his eyes."
To hear Rihanna recount the events of the evening is shocking, mostly because she confirms all of the worst details, including the fact that one point, Chris threatened to kill her for phoning her assistant. She insists she knew he would never go through it, using his words as a scare tactic to keep her quiet, but the physical abuse that she recounts was very real:
"I fended him off with my feet from one … side of the car, but … it was not like, it was not like a fight with each other. I just … I really just wanted it to stop…I was bleeding. I was swollen in my face. So there was no way of me getting home, except for, my next option was to get out of the car and walk. Start walking in a gown, in a bloody face. So I really don't know what my plan was. I didn't have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan."
She recalls that by the time the police reached the scene, she was already brutally "battered" and when asked what caused the fight initially, she would only say that he was lying to her:
"I caught him in a lie. And he wouldn't tell the truth … I was being more annoyed at that point in our relationship he had to lie about something so stupid, I couldn't take that he kept lying to me. And he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it. And … it was ugly."
Along with shining some light on the details of that evening, she also divulges into why, after all the pain he caused her, she returned to him for a period of time. She insists that she was feeling a "host ofemotions " and that her love for him "blinded" her from seeing the reality of the situation. She said, "The physical wounds go away, you put it in the back of your head and you start lying to yourself subconsciously."
Feeling "lonely" and "humiliated," especially after the leak of the photo of her face after Chris' attack, it took her getting over the hurdle of feeling the need to protect Chris before she could walk away:
"I just said to him, 'I can't do this.' I resented him. I resented him so much. And I always put the tough face on and try to, I can do anything face, and just try to play it off. But he knew. He knew it. He kept asking me, 'You hate me, don't you? You hate me,'" she told Sawyer. "And I would lie and I would say, 'No, no. And … I did hate him. … Everything about him annoyed me. So finally … I just said, we can't … we can't do this. I cannot continue to do this."
Finally, though she says she has grown and feels like the worst of the incident is behind her, she makes it clear that in the end, it is something that she will always take with her, a piece of her that can never be healed:
"The thing that men don't realize, when they hit a woman, it's… the face, the broken arm, the black eye, it's going to heal. That's not … the problem. It's the scar inside. You flashback. You … you remember it all the time. It comes back to you whether you like it or not. And it's painful. So I don't think he understood that. They never do."

We're so happy that she has been able to grow from this situation and find a way to face it and talk about it openly.

I think she handled the situation horrendously, going to to Chris initially and doing her best to make sure he only got a slap on the wrist and #2. She seems to only be speaking out to promote her new album, which she claims helped her through her situation.

When she said that at the moments of abuse he 'had no soul in his eyes', that was like my ex. I used to say it was like his eyes went dark black, the lights went out. He became so terrifying and, I believe, that at that moment, he was capable of doing anything, including killing me. I hardly think a woman under 21 can be an advocate against domestic violence. She needs to live a little. It's a shame she had to endure this but what everyone doesn't see is that she could be potentially playing the victim. It's devastating that a woman can destroy a man in a heart beat with accusations. What if…just what if Chris was trying to fend her off and arms and legs got in the mix and she attacked him too? This could be her revenge for him lying so much and to teach him a lesson. People are too quick to believe this sort of story. I don't believe her. I know exactly what she is talking about! They move on so quickly from it…. My boyfriend kicked me in the head over and over with a pair of steal toe boots and I couldnt open my jaw for a week….. since it was 4 in the morning wehn I got home from the police station I only had a few hours sleep before I had to go write a final exam so I never made it to the hopital…….. I'm lucky nothing fatal came of it… he ended up serving seven and a half months in maximum security prison for what her did… even though he is sober now I still have panic attacks sometimes. This happend just months before the Rihanna thing…. but alot of the things she says are true… they can be hard to hear… but remove your self from the situation and look at it as a whole….. even still it will stay with me forever… even the wanting to save him from the negativity that comes their way after they do it!

Abuse is an insidious thing, and it doesn't start with physical. It starts with mental and emotional, until that person is a broken ghost of what they once were. An abused person feels that they have only their abuser to love and rely on. When your abuser hurts you, it can take some time to process, especially if you truly love and trust them. They are your other half. You want them to explain why they hurt you, to make it all sense. It takes a little bit of time for the brain to catch up and say, love doesn't matter. Actions matter. Rihanna going back to Chris was extremely typical for abusive relationships, and she shouldn't be ridiculed for this. In fact, what was abnormal and what she should be commended for, is that the return to Chrris was short-term and she utlimately left him for good.

Still not buying it. There were a lot of problems between the 2 of them before this incident and they both have their blame to be had. Yes, it was horrible for her to get so beaten, but at the same time, she had also contributed to the cycle herself in previous confrontations. It just finally caught up with her. She sounds just like I do when I try to understand why I allowed my ex boyfriend back into my life. You do love that person, but you are often being manipulated. Glad that she talked and waited until she was healed enough to do so. It takes time and she must have had good help to have done it so fast. It's hard to believe that the person you love most would turn their strength on you and hurt you or worse. The cold stare in their eyes like they're not in there. I'm glad she got away.
I'm tired of hearing about this. I've been in an abusive relationship, mutually abusive. It was the first time I had ever hit anyone, let alone a boyfriend, and it was the first time any man I was in a relationship with ever put his hands on me. For one, it's quite convenient that she decides to do this interview when he album is just weeks away from dropping. She talks about standing up for these girls who look up to her. She wants to be an example? GTFOH. For the past nine months she's been jet-setting, fashion weeking, making out in nightclubs, frequenting strip clubs, half naked-see through everything wearing…c'mon. If she was really worried about setting an example I must've missed it.
She's human, I understand…and she's young and rich. She has a management team behind her to tell her how to handle situations just like these but don't insult MY intelligence. It's on police record that they've been abusive with each other, even on the night in question that she hit him, and she gets on national television and says she never did anything? Domestic violence, and violence in general, is despicable. Whether by the man or woman. The only way to truly heal is to admit your own faults to yourself. How she is using this situation to glorify herself and her career, at the expense of another human being, no matter HOW badly they treated her, isn't going to make things better.
I'm just shocked to see what people are writing here…. you want to hear the other side of the story??? What other side?? There is none! Nothing justifies beating your partner unless there abusive to you first and thats really at a stretch! also I some how doubt that was the situation here.
and also to the people who think shes talking about this to promote her album, are you all f**king insane??? You think she could go out and about with her normal life and never talk about what happened to her?? Do you not think thats worse the staying silent??? She obviously did not have the strength and courage to speak intially, for god sake she couldn't find the spirit to leave that stupid c**t!!!
Some of you are saying you always have a choice but Im doubting you've ever been in a abusive relationship, if you had maybe you'd have some compassion for this girl like most normal, understanding people would!

I just hope this young lady gets the help she needs regarding her anger management also. It is known that she slapped Chris on several occasions. I can guarantee if the reports are true, she will slap another man in the future. At that time we will going down this road again, her having been beat to a pulp.
