Roman Polanski Film Tribute In Switzerland

Roman Polanski is being honored in Switzerland as the subject of a film tribute by the Swiss Film Archive. They have invited critics and experts to come and talk about Polanski's work.
The event organizers have explicitly stated that the tribute will be about the director's work and not his current state of affairs.
So nobody thinks something like this is a bit ill-timed or inappropriate considering the man is currently fighting extradition to the US to face sentencing for a child rape charge?
Not to mention that he won't even be able to attend?

let me elaborate: the day polanski was arrested, the swiss film archive had this event planned for the evening. off course they all had their panties majorly twisted, when police picked him up at the airport. i agree, the timing sucks bigtime. but whadda you wanna do? this is the year of swiss-screw-ups. i'm no fan of polanskis films, but i guess you should seperate the art from the artist. for ex. i love the song "rock n roll", but despise gary glitter for molesting kids.
There needs to be more backlash against stars that support his release. Harrison Ford and Natalie Portman have signed the petition calling for his release. I for one can't support actors or their work if they support child rape.
He had a relationship with Natasha Kinsky when she was only 15 and he was directing film "Tess". His own murdered child would be 39 or 40 this month. You can be sure that the Tate-Bianca Manson murders, plus his early displaced childhood in WWll Poland have up'd the pity points for him. But, he still remains a predator. He was invited before - and if the festival people had some balls they had prestented him the honor in jail.
