Glambert's Debut Isn't Selling!

This doesn't bode well for his album release next week!

Adam Lambert's debut single, For Your Entertainment, hasn't been selling very well on iTunes…AT ALL!

As of Monday morning, the song was only at #76 - after a week on the iTunes chart!

We like the single a lot so where did he go wrong?

      Sometimes there is just no rhyme or reason to it, not every record label can create a star… sometimes the timing just isnt right. It's not always the fault of the artist.

      He is a very mild version of Lady Gaga: An OK singer who sells himself as a package. The difference is Lady Gaga knows how to entertain. Lambert's 15 minutes of fame expired a couple months ago.

      Wow, Perez. 1) His album isn't out for TWO weeks, don't get it twisted. 2) He's not Miley or Gaga or Beyonce….he's a brand new artist. His song needs time to catch on. It doesn't have NEARLY the radio spins YET that those artists do. Give it time! Plus his AMA performance of the song the day before the album comes out should help him.

      And FYI…the album comes out the 23rd of November since you're clearly confused.

      They're just marketing based on the hype (exotic gay boy with pipes that would make MIMI turn) that has led up to what he is thus far.       The song JUST CAME OUT! And he is a new artist, not Britney or Madonna. His album has been top or near-the-top listed for pre-orders on Amazon since it's become available.       Ok IDIOTS!!!!!The song is AMAZING and the only reason it isn't high on iTunes right now is because it was released on his website for DAYS before it was put on Amazon or iTunes. When it was finally put on iTunes-you couldn't find it by searching his name-you had to use a link to get to it and it had no banner or advertisement on the main page-most people outside of the AI bubble do not even know of it's existence. As soon as it starts getting more radio play (which it already is) it will be a hit-his album has been in the top 10 on Amazon since it's been released and will sell millions-you aint seen nothing yet. And how stupid are you people the song isn't just about sex-it's about the submission between artists and performer and about Adam breaking out of the Idol bubble. He's performing on the AMA's,GMA,Letterman,Ellen,etc-and mark my word this song will be a hit. All you people can SUCK IT-you're just jealous because he's an international star. He doesn't even need America. Oh and also iTunes is a piece of crap and was frozen for 3 days right after his song was put on there so noone really has any idea how it's doing.

      I don't understand how someone with such a great voice needed so much auto-tune for his first big single. Its waaay over produced. For me, Time For Miracles was a much better song and I'm very disappointed in For Your Entertainment. Also, I agree with some of the other readers, he's become a bit "big-headed". I saw him after the Pink concert, when hardly no one was around. He walked up to where I was and was getting ready to leave. I said "Hi Adam, my wife and I are huge fans . We loved you on Idol and voted for you, can we have a picture with you?" He looked right at me (there's a pic of that) didn't smile, say hi or anything. He just grabbed his boyfriends hand and walked off. Needless to say, my wife and I were greatly disappointed.

      1) The single was available for immediate download on Adam's official website long before it premiered on iTunes, so a lot of people probably bought it there instead.
      2) iTunes was having issues at the time of the release of the song, so for the first two days you couldn't find the song via the search engine.
      3) It has had very little radio play. Give it some time to get some more spins and circulation. Radio play plays a large part in sales.
      4) He is a new artist. Only firmly established artists sail up the charts immediately. It took Daughtry's first single almost 6 months to hit the top of the charts, for example. Same with Lady Gaga's "Just Dance".
      5) The song has had basically NO promotion from the label so far. We're expecting that to start this week, so hopefully sales will go up.

      I really like the song, it's sexy and fun and it sticks in your head. I loooove dancing to it.

      Kris Allen: LLYWD released 2 weeks ago did not crack the top 100 til Wed last week. Now in top 100 because of Promo… duh.

      Adam Lambert: FYE released 1 week ago on Ryan's show. No other promo but is getting radio spins. Still in top 100. That is awesome.

      In other words more promo (AMA's etc.) and time Adam will shoot up to top 10 guaranteed.

      His album will have multiple genres-not just dance.This song is a very very good mainstream pop hit that he needs to break out of the idol bubble. It is NOT AUTOTUNED. There is a HUGE difference between vocal effects and layering and auto-tuning. Vocal effects =/=auto tuning. Besides the couple synth sounds in the songs and the vocal layering near the end-his voice has not been messed with at all. The high notes at the end are signature Adam. You can't box Adam into one genre-because he can sing it all. And to the people who don't get the album cover-it's androgyny. The left half of the picture is feminine and the right half is masculine-it's what makes Lambert so appealing to so many. It's genius and so is the song. Adam is THE SEX.

      People really need to learn the difference between autotune and normal production. Autotune is used when artists can't hit certain notes, which Adam obviously doesn't have a problem with. It's a dance song, of course his voice is going to be layered with some sort of production. It's normal for this kind of song. IT'S NOT AUTOTUNE.

From the album snippets, Music Again, Pick U Up, Sleepwalker, Fever and Soaked sound EPIIIIIIIC. They all do aside from FYE and TFM.       Oh Perez. You got the album release date wrong AND the number of days FYE has been released. It hasn't been a week yet and it debuted at #51 without any promotion, But urrr thanks for the free promotion lmao. The promotion hasn't started yet rofl. His live debut is in 2 weeks on the AMAs, then the interviews start. As much as I love and respect Claude Kelly - Dr Luke is a bit up himself, I do hope Adam releases as stronger song next. The album snippets sound amazing.

      Adam can't please everyone, or even everyone who voted for him on AI. He has a very diverse fan base so far, and from the album snippets it seems like he did try to do a variety of styles. I happen to LOVE this song. I downloaded it directly from his official website. ITunes isn't the only way to track a song's success, especially since it was available for download elsewhere before iTunes released it. Also, like others said, he is a new artist. It may take a little longer for him to get a song to #1. It will happen. I'm not worried.
