Has The Spider-Man Musical Found A Savior?

According to the guy supposedly saving it, it has!
Broadway producer Michael Cohl is swooping in to save the superhero musical from fading out. It's said that Bono himself went to Michael as a favor and asked him to do something. So he did!
Who says no to Bono?
The announcement of the change was made over the weekend, as well as the confirmation that relative unknown Reeve Carney will be cast in the lead role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, along with Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cummings.
There is no word as of yet of when the show, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, which is quickly going down in history as the most costly Broadway show ($50 million), will preview but Michael claims that he is "very close to having in place the financing that we need and getting everyone back to work on the musical".
Will he make it for the Tony deadline in April or will his web have to wait until next awards season? Or will he crash and burn just like the last producer?!
This is sooo something that should never happen.

I go to the movies on 42nd street a lot, right by the theater Spider Man is "going to be" in and i just chuckle to myself every time about how much money is being spent on this thing. Throw some of that money my way! I could really use it!!!
And doesn't Bono have like a zillion dollars? Can't he just fund it? Geesh.

Reeve is your friend Lisa from the Veronicas boyfriend! And singer of the band Carney. He is AMAZING! If anyone can make this show good, its him.
(Now if it crashes and burns, that is something he doesn't deserve!)
Plus he is so super sweet, he totally deserves this!
This is doomed. It'll be the biggest Broadway disaster since Paul Simon's "Cape Man".

He basically committed financial suicide with this… why now in this economic crisis would you spend 50 million dollars on a broadway show that no one can afford to see?? He'll never make back what he put into this.
Actually Reeve will only play Peter Parker. The role of Spiderman will be played by FIVE different actors in order to do all the diff effects. Which means, whenever the guy in the mask is singing - it'll be lipsynched. Might as well have Britney Spears lypsynch the show.
Why can't we just let this musical die… MUST we go through another Carrie the musical… must we?
