John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston, have kept pretty quiet on the tragic death of their son Jett, who died after a seizure in their Bahamian home this past January.
But the actor has decided to finally open up about his family and how they have been coping:
"We've been working very hard every day as a family to heal. We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping. You need your friends a lot in times like that."
John and Kelly's 9-year-old daughter Ella Bleu is making her film debut in her father's new movie, Old Dogs, out on November 25. John continues:
"We decided it was OK to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film."
Kelly Preston also spoke about how their family is dealing with the loss of Jett saying that:
"…[the] outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary. It's been our friends, our family, our church. We partake in spiritual counseling pretty much daily.
"It's a tricky thing. Sometimes, something that's right for the moment is not right the next day. Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that's what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes, being alone, too."
We can't imagine going through something as terrible as losing a child, but it's good to hear that they are working through their grief as a family.
And we look forward to seeing little Ella in the movies too!

I can't imagine the pain they feel! I don't think anything can be worse than loosing a child! They're amazing people!

"give her a beautiful future in film." HAHAHAHAHA!!! her dad is a has-been, and a "future in film?" as if making movies is a worthy profession. Pitiful. Narcissistic way to make money, and it's not "craft" when you make garbage films that elevate and illuminate nothing.
Try to help others in much worse straits. Sell some of the planes. Be glad your son died in a pleasant place with plenty to eat and people who loved him. His death was "natural" and not the result of a murder or stupidity. Count your blessings and axe the superstition. everyone dies, we all will.

Have loved John Travolta since 1978. But now every time I look at him & Kelly I just feel enormous sadness. What they've gone through this past year no parent should have to endure. My heart breaks for them.

Need I remind everyone that Jett Travolta would still be alive if Jon chose to give his son the medication he needed but denied him because of his 'religion'. This man should be in jail. And in case I need to remind him, children in film rarely have a 'beautiful' experience, and you can't control that.
