When Manson got smacked with a bottle at a show once he hauled the guy who did it on stage and then told the entire crowd to "throw whatever they had at him" Launching of various object and hilarity ensued. I understand Morrissey for being upset but was it really necessary to punish the whole crowd for one douchebag who doesn't know how to behave? It's part of the business ya know!!!! Next time just put a net between the crowd and yourself on-stage if you have such a problem with it Morrissey!!!

I love his music but Morrissey has always had a big ego. I can understand getting mad but keep singing…if it happens again, then leave.

If that was you Perez, you'd be crying on your blog whining that no one deserves to get hit by a bottle and violence in never the answer.
It certainly would have been better to have walked off stage, taken a moment to compose himself, and get back out there for the fans. A nearly full water (plastic) bottle hurts a great deal more than all the gladioli he was used to back in the day.
If this had happened to you Perez (and I am surprised it didn't on your "tour") you would be ranting against the violence of the act both by post and by 25 minute verbal rant.

Perez, normally I like your posts but I completely disagree with this one. I think he did the right thing by storming offstage. What if it were something more dangerous that was thrown? No tolerance.

I am amazed at how Perez is quick to throw Chris Brown and other celebs who hit people under the bus yet is sort of calling Morrissey a P*SS* for leaving the stage. Perez, it's one thing to preach about not hitting people and another being a hypocrite. I say Morrissey had every right to be angry and upset, I don't blame him for leaving. Knowing him, I bet he was really looking forward to beating the crap out of that person, but had the common sense to get off the stage and cool off.

Re: Laury – That's exactly how I would have reacted as well. I am sure many fans were angry at that one person too who did this. No matter how egotistical or far-out there Morrissey may be, he did not deserve such treatment.

I like Morrissey, but he's quite the DIVA! I saw him once at the Hollywood Bowl in the early 90's. He reached into the crowd, someone happened to rip the sleeve of the puffy shirt he was wearing. He got pissed, said goodnight, and walked off stage. He sang two songs and that's it. He sure as hell didn't refund anyone their money. It comes with the territory. All of this goes along with the fame. If you're going to be a bitch about it, quit the business and become a monk!

I do not blame Morrissey. He deserves better than that as would any performer. Understand that he does not play to a rock and roll crowd. His fans (followers) have more of a connection with he and his heart than fans of someone like Marilyn Manson. Morressey is too classy to ask his fans to turn on the assailant. Imagine if someone threw something at Barbara Streisand. She would not stand for it. She is much more of a creep that any other musician. My mother's life long dream was to see "Babs" sing. When she finally came to a town near us, the tickets were like $500. WTF. Needless to say, my mother died this past Monday without ever seeing that creep Streisand. My mom was a fan of hers when she was NOTHING and was still till she died. Barbara. May the fleas of 1000 camels infest her crotch.

While he did finish the show eventually, you have to admit he was kind of a prick. Where was the respect towards the loving fans then? Morrissey handled that like a gentleman. He was dressed up and reaching into the audience to shake their hands, then some knob throws a bottle full of water/piss/beer(?) at his head. He didn't deserve that. He did the right thing by walking — not storming — off. That audience will be getting a full refund, so they got two songs for free. The people who are still whining about it and blaming Moz for what happened are the real divas.
