Check out this new promo poster for the Tim Burton/Disney adaptation of Alice in Wonderland!
It prominently features Helena Bonham Carter as the crazy Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the slightly more put together White Queen.
We have to say, if nothing else, the production design for this movie looks amazing!

It's good except the colors and the cat. The cat fits nowhere in the picture like they just got bored and said "Hey how bout that cat, lets put it in there!".
The colors are quite faded out, nothing that really stands out as a wonderland.

I love Tim Burton.. however… Im sick and tired of him casting his wife Helena Bonham Carter on EVERY movie he does!! I mean WFT…is like she gets roles automatically on the bases of being his wife. she is an ok acctress not great.. infact I will go as far to say that she is not even good .. more like a Silver spoon brat that can't do anything else with her time and really does not have to earn a salary and therefore acts…
she is the sole reason why I don't go to theater to see his fims
I've waited for a year for this! I would make this poster my background but the twins creepy the hell outta me.

Re: Nathan Explosion! – its actually the Red Queen, the one that appears in Through the Looking Glass. the movie is mainly about the two queens from that book. it's not based on the Disney version.

This will not be a Disney redux. Please enjoy the brain candy for which this book is.Furthermore………………..Miss Atomic Kitty stop with the insults at Miss Helene. This makes you sound petty and morose. Miss Helene has had a very illustrous career before she married her Mr. Burton. Oh no. Tim Burton? That'd ruin it like a giant shit stain. Disney should crawl out of Burton's ass, his style is too abstract and eccentric for stories as simple, dreamy and innocent as classic fairytales and stories. Burton wrecks films.
I hope parents have the fore site to NOT take there children to this. I have a feeling Helena's Red Queen could give them nightmares for months. She is totally freaking me out, but yeah Perez is right the production design looks amazing I bet they win an award for it.
Even though this movie poster is pretty amazing and I will be there opening day most likely… I just wonder to myself… the movie is clearly named Alice in Wonderland but Alice is nowhere to be seen… just a little confused!
If Perez had kids… they'd look just like tweedledee and tweedledum.

Second, she's openly admitted that she has to audition for the roles, Burton didn't even want Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett in 'Sweeney Todd', she got cast for the role by Stephen Sondheim. Third, HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SAY SHE'S NOT A GOOD ACTRESS?! Helena Bonham Carter is one of the best english actresses there is. You have no taste.

If you are looking for Disney colors in this movie…well, it's not a Disney cartoon. It's a NEW Alice in Wonderland for the ages!!!!!!

Re: cherry.girl23 – Cherry Girl you really should read more: Alice in Wonderland, and the second book Through the Looking Glass, are not 'simple, innocent fairytales' as you say: they are actually deep, abstract, intellectual books, written more for adults than for children and therefore Burton is as good a Director to make this movie as any other - definetely not Disney!!
Re: momster – Momster I agree with you 100 % - people just don't read! these books are not childrens' books or fairytales, we're not talking about Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty here.. actually Alice in Wonderland evokes a certain feeling of madness/dream/subconcious that Burton can easily portray: magic+fear / light+darkness / real+illusion? Disney is for easy, simple and nice, not for this. And please, Helena is not only Tim's wife, she's a godo actress, and she's perfect for this kind of characters, they just happen to be a couple… and if she auditions for them, all the better! I don't see no one criticising him choosing dear Johnny Depp for all his movies! — maybe they're his muses!
