PETA isn't going to be too happy with what their former campaign spokesmodel is being accused of.
Actress Dominique Swain is apparently broke and neglectful!
The 29-year-old was spotted this weekend at an animal shelter in Malibum where she brought in a box of eight-week-old puppies.
Swain, accompanied by her father, went to turn in the half cocker spaniel puppies that her dog had given birth to and she didn't even bother to have the puppies vaccinated yet.
According to an insider, Dominique "was really strung out and just wanted to dump the puppies there, they had never even been to a vet. She was told that it was crucial that they had their shots at four and eight weeks, and they had to be kept away from the other shelter dogs.”
She was then asked by the volunteers at the non-profit shelter if she could make a donation for the required vaccinations, if not, the volunteers would need to pay for it.
Adds the source, “She said she had no money, despite [driving in] in her BMW. She was really rude. Eventually she said she would make a small donation, but just left the pups there and drove off.”
So sad!
As for the pups, she really should have considered getting her dog spayed before and could have avoided the whole mess.
Seriously, if her dog has more puppies is she just gonna dump them off again?

PETA is full of shit. Last year, out of the homeless animals they got, around 3000 adoptable animals, only SEVEN were adopted. Most of the money is spend is advertising about how we should never eat meat, eggs, or drink milk. It kills more animals than it saves. PETA IS BULLSHIT! Support your local ASPCA instead, 80-90 percent of the animals they get, are adopted.

This is ridiculous. I really hope that this isn't true. I work at an animal shelter, and I hate people because of things like this. How irresponsible could you be? Spay and neuter your pets, please!!! Plus, without proper care in those first couple weeks, those puppies don't have much hope to develop. PETA really should have higher standards. I'm a vegetarian and a real animal lover, and I totally don't support PETA because I feel like they are just about propaganda. Sorry, PETA members, I respect the cause, but not how it's run.
For God's sake all she needed was to get her dog spayed. If she did not take that precaution, she should have at least given the puppies their necessary shots before unloading them at an overburdened shelter!

I worked on a movie set with her a few years ago where she had a small part. She came in one day FUCKED out of her god forsaken mind. she staggered up the steps and into her dressing room where one of the wardrobe staff had to help her get her clothes on and off as she couldn't do it herself. She was a mess!

Re: sleezy*e – Shelters ask for people who are able to pay to make donations since most animal shelters are nonprofit. They probably assumed that she would want to help since it was her fault that those puppies couldn't be cared for.
And THAT'S why our shelters are overcrowded and dogs and cats are euthanized eveyday! Great job, woman. Thanks for contributing!
lots of shelters ask for donations or admitting fees, because most of the animals are brought in due to time/responsibility/allergy issues, not because the owners can't afford them. And, unvaccinated puppies are in serious danger of contracting life threatening diseases at a shelter

Perez, I love you but I was at Pacific Coast Pets pet store in Malibu when this happened. You've got it wrong. Dominque told these people - the Animal Advocacy Group - that she grew up in Malibu and her dad suggested she take them to Pacific Coast Pets where this organization has a pet adoption on the weekends. That way she could meet the people adopting the pets and make sure they were going to nice families. The Animal Advocacy Group representatives were initially nice to her. They asked her to sign their paperwork, which she did, and then they asked her if the puppies had been vaccinated. This is where things went awry. She told them that they had not been and that's when these women went ballistic on her. They told her they would have to bring them to the shelter and that they couldn't believe that she would have the "audacity to bring unvaccinated dogs to them." She told them she had no idea, that the puppies had never been outside her house and that she absolutely did not want the puppies going to a shelter. Then she asked for them back. The Animal Advocacy Group refused to give them back claiming she had signed them away. She tried to reason with them, even offering to pay for the puppies' vaccinations but this lame organization demanded $200 from her to hold the puppies in a shelter or they were going to contact the press, as they knew who she was! She told them she didn't have any cash on her and again demanded that they return the puppies to her.
This is an obvious and blatant case of extortion. This "organization" was trying to extort money from this actress if she didn't make a big donation. The world is really sad when an animal organization tries to extort money from a celebrity. the Animal Advocacy Group should be shut down and investigated for extortion.

I have an abused dog from the shelter. He's great . I love him. There are just too many dogs and cats without all of the breeding that's done. To channel Bob Barker: "Remember to get your pets spayed or neutered." That was the only thing that grabbed my attention on that show.
