Tracy Jordan Morgan's Audience Walks Out On Him!
Folks got a lot more than they bargained for when Tracy Morgan took the stage at Carnegie Hall on Friday. In fact, more than half of the audience WALKED OUT of the theater after the first few jokes of his set.
Obviously, people attending the show were hoping to see more of Tracy's 30 Rock side, but instead, they were given filthy, explicit sex jokes, jabs at the Presidential family, and a direct hit at homosexuals. (Mr. Morgan thinks it's a "choice," just like it was choice for everyone to ask for their money back from his terrible show.)
At one point, he even started "mimicking explicit sex acts on stage", which prompted the "continuous flow of people getting up and leaving."
We appreciate that comedy has taken a turn for the raunchy, but this idiot should have considered his audience before he got up there! He was in Carnegie Hall!
Save that shit for Thursday night at the Laugh Factory!

Sorry, Perez. But don't be too surprised about the anti-gay "joke"/slur. There's a certain degree of homophobia deeply ingrained in many Black communities. I know this might be a controversial statement, but I'm just being real. This is a battle I often fight with my (Black) boyfriend- just trying to open his eyes. And yes I'm perfectly aware that there are people of all colors who make anti gay slurs. I'm just saying homosexuality is *especially* stigmatized among many Black men.

He's fine in scripted comedy… 30 Rock, SNL.. but he is not funny in his stand up routine.
I saw him before he was on 30 Rock and he pulled the same act. Not many people were laughing and many walked out. He should pay some people to write jokes for him like they do on 30 Rock.
It's true that he was filthy and deeply offensive, but nowhere near half of the audience walked out. Some people did, but it was closer to 5%.

I've seen his stand up live a few times over the years and it's always raunchy and nasty (and really funny). He is a really blue comedian. It's never been a mystery. The problem is that people who were introduced to him thru "30 Rock" may not know this. Can you imagine if Andrew Dice Clay got popular on a sitcom before really breaking out? Audiences would've been shocked. I find it hard to believe that 50% of the audience left anyway….

Tracy Jordan is a character that he plays on TV. Of course his stand-up isn't going to be that character! Also, if you pay tickets to see somebody, make yourself aware of who you are going to see. And secondly, don't leave - that's just RUDE!

I saw him a few months back here in San Francisco and it sounds like the same act. It was super raunchy and actually pretty disappointing considering that Sex is always an easy topic. I was wondering if he had any better material, I guess I can stop wondering. I didn't find anything he did funny. Sometimes I wonder why these people are famous. He needs to step it WAY up if he is going to continue to do stand up.

I live in NYC and have a friend who went to one of his last shows. Apparently the exact same thing happened. From what i remember, I was told that everyone walked out not just because the jokes weren't tasteful, but because he simply wasn't funny.

Tracy Morgan is one of the funniest people on the planet. Half the people didn't walk out. But 50+ or so did have to run to the bathroom after pissing themselves.
Not surprised, I saw him do stand up a few years back in college and to begin he was like an hour late, than he did a half hour bit about female masturbating that ended in him simulating a vibrator, told a few other jokes and left. It was suuuper uncomfortable.

This guy is crazy and a ticking time bomb! He guested at Howard Stern in Sirius lately and he was so out of touch. He was very defensive about his book when Howard was just trying to verify the facts that he had written on the book. He thinks he is such a hot shot already!
he also cancelled a book signing in Huntington, NY with just a moments notice. Not good. Many of his last remaining fans are pissed. So is the store, and this kind of thing never happens there. it is an independent and well known book store that many celebrities and politicians and sports figures have signings and appearances at. he is just a LOSER on a, for the moment, hit show. Even their portrayal of him is that of an irresponsible lunatic. I guess it is a reality.
I like Tracy as a comedian..he is raw and that is his style..Ever here of Bob Sagat? What happened was exactly as it should of happened. Some people chose to walk out because they were offended and Tracy did his thing because he has the right and freedom of speech.
