Winona Ryder Is The Hallmark Of The TV World!

Unfortunately, no longer the toast of 90s film, Winona Ryder has found herself at the height of TV movies!

The former A-lister will star in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story.

Yikes!

The film centers around the true story of Lois Wilson, the co-founder of Al-Anon, and her relationship with her alcoholic husband (played by Barry Pepper), one of the Alcoholics Anonymous founders.

Both lived a lavish lifestyle in the 1920s until his drinking led to their demise. Lois' husband, Bill, eventually got sober, but she continued to battle her own issues with his disease and began to help others with the same issues.

Sounds inneresting, but it's still a Hallmark movie!

Will U be watching?!

      Actually, I will watch that.

I'm very surprised that Hallmark thinks this would be a movie worth watching. Just what everyone wants to see a washed up Winona with a bottle in her hand how appropriate she might as well call it a wrap on her Hollywood career.

    4. 4

Yeah of course. I love Winona. She's a fantastic actress, and that's one thing that will never change.

    5. 5

She's still adorable! Clepto and all….I like her!

I will watch, I love Winona.

Actually, she made a smart move here. As the wife of the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, Lois has a very important story to tell. People may not realize it but AA is the first working solution for alcholism, a disease that shreds people's lives apart, after thousands of years of no hope.

Hey DIVA, she was not the boozer, her hubby was.

Re: divas1 – lois wasn't an alcoholic. do your homework. just thought i would straighten that out… still won't watch it.

I will watch that. I still love Winona and wish she were in movies. She's a good actress. S'ok to do Hallmark. Hey, we all need $!

Anyone who has dealt with an addict of any kind would be interested in this story, as Lois's husband was an alcoholic and she helped form the "other" support group Al Anon to help the family's of alcoholics deal with the family disease of alcoholism. The only concern I would have for this movie would be the "programs" stance on public relations. "Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, films, and TV." Winona will be very competent in this role. She has played codependent people well before, I just hope she gets the subtleties right.

I just think it's so fucking hilarious that just a few days ago the news reports were all saying “Winona Ryder's Big Comeback” in the headlines with regards to her signing onto Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.” Now, with the news of her doing a film for Hallmark/ CBS… all of a sudden her career will be over… simply ridiculous!

    16. 16

Looked into it and yes she was not the one suffering from Alcoholism, but I don't like this for tv. AA is not to appear on tv according to what I read.

Winona's still an A-lister. Hallmark has great, quality movies. Grant you, it doesn't have queer's all over each other (BARF), thank God, but still…fantastic movies.

She'll be doing blockbuster movies again.

    19. 19

The woman is beautiful, and talented.

    20. 20

Lot's of stars appear in Hallmark movies. It's called a side job. Perez, I don't see you doing any movies at all so she's still doing more than you.

Hello? 'Led to their demise' means that they died - which is not the case, obviously. Can someone with more than a third grade education please write these posts?

    22. 22

I think it is cool. People need a second chance. I hope she does well!

    23. 23

come on perez dont be so mean!
winona is a great actress…ok its a hallmark movie big deal
lots of people do shows and movies that don't have good reputations
i mean you done a degrassi movie…not that there anything wrong with that its just you can take that show seriously

    24. 24

      Kudos Winona!

I love Hallmark Hall of Fame movies!!

      I will be watching!

    26. 26

Looks like all that's left for her is Hollywood Squares.

    27. 27

She's a decent actress and still pretty. Wish she could land good movie roles.

    28. 28

That and the movie where she's gonna have a gay sex scene with Mila Kunis.

    29. 29

Sounds like it could be a really compelling movie, actually. Depends on the quality of the script. Winona will be great in it, I'm sure.

    30. 30

Glenn Close does tv, and is her career done?

This is a (potentially) meaty role for any actress, t.v. or no t.v., and looks like one worth telling. I say she scored a nice role.

    32. 32

DEFINITELY! I will watch anything and everything she does! She is gorgeous, intriging, and indefinitely interesting to me. She had me at Beetlejuice…
