The American Music Awards announced via their official Twitter and a TV spot that Janet Jackson will be opening the show with an 8-minute medley!

The diva has her new greatest hits CD, Number Ones, coming out this Tuesday and the AMAs will be airing on November 22 at 8 PM on ABC.

We cannot wait to see her perform! Perez is gonna be there AND is a presenter at the awards show!!!!

      It is very comical looking at all the hateful comments against a talented person who you all could never hold a candle to.       A. Disappointed that she decided to call it 'Number Ones' - can be interpreted as taking advantage of Michael's album of the same name.
      B. Is it only including her number one songs? If so, that leaves out a lot of great classics, which would really be too bad since her last greatest hits album came out in 1996.

      Who is she trying to be? No one cares about Janet anymore. She fucked up after the Superbowl, no one wants to see her fat ass on stage anymore. She had her day in the 90's, but come on now! She ain't an ICON. At least Madonna is somewhat thrilling to see every now and then on TV and it always gets talked about (and people call her irrelevant????).
      Janet is looking horribly desperate…When Madonna was 40 she was at the top of her game…When "Hung Up" came out she was 47!!!!!!!!! That song spent so many days at #1 on TRL. Janet can't even do that at 40. What a has been.

      Lmao are you serious? You do realize that Many Many artists have compilations called Number Ones. Its a greatest hits package that only consists of NUMBER ONE HITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its pretty self explanitory. Oh and if Janet wasnt relevant anymore do you really think she would be opening up the awards show?? And just because Madonna had a #1 on TRL doesnt mean shit, it didnt go number one on the billboard charts and those are what matter. Janet is a true ICON performer, just stop hating and appreciate. Lets see if Beyonce, Gaga and whoever else you all mentioned have the career that Janet has when they are in thier 40's.
