Courtney Love Is Releasing A New Album - Finally!

We didn't even know she was still working on one!
Courtney Love is releasing Nobody's Daughter in January, her first album since 2004's America's Sweetheart, but she's going back to her roots and releasing it under her old band's name, Hole.
“Wherever I lay my head is Hole. It’s four letters. It is one of the best band names in fucking history, if I do say so myself. For a while I was a little embarrassed it was maybe vulgar, but at least it’s not phallic. It’s H-O-L-E, it’s a great band name, and it’s mine.”
Hole hasn't had an album out since 1998's Celebrity Skin and the new band includes Courtney and guitarist Micko Larkin. Nobody's Daughter was influenced by David Bowie, Pink Floyd and '80s goth, Courtney reveals - and the underlying themes of the album are greed, vengeance and feminism.
Courtney stumbles through this explanation:
“There’s a lot of maternal instinct on there, and probably my favorite lyric is: ‘Nobody’s daughter, she’s never was, she never will be beholden to anyone. She cannot kill. You don’t understand how evil we really are.' I don’t even know what that really means, but I know it’s something to do with my daughter and it’s also to do with me.”
She still sounds so effed up to us!

Celebrity Skin is a classic. America's Sweetheart was amazing but didn't get the promo it deserved because of her own choice. I love it when she surfaces
when i was younger i really disliked hole and courtney just because, as a kurt cobain and nirvana fan, it seemed like the thing to do.
as i got older i gave hole a chance and found out that i actually like courtney love a lot. everything she has gone through - drugs, kurt.s suicide, all the constant negative media - i realized she.s such a fucking trooper. she is funny as hell and definetly unique.
i.ll be getting the album when i comes out and hopefully i.ll be buying tickets to see her play live if she comes to connecticut or the tri-state area.
Hole actually was an alright band… so I'll definitely at least listen to the album online to see if I like it. Just because she's kind of crazy doesn't mean the music will suck.

Yes I am looking forward to it. I've been waiting forever for this. Had tickets to her concert back in 200?, and it as canceled because that's when she was taken to jail or rehab or whatever she was in trouble for. I was really upset about that. Can't wait and if there is a tour involved I hope she comes to Phoenix because I will be there. i know she's out there, kinda, but she makes brilliant music.
I've listened to some of the demos online and they are actually really good! Its a shame her wackadoodle ways overshadow her music.
Will she be getting Billy Corgan to write all the songs for her AGAIN? If so, I'll listen because he's a great songwriter.

yes i love courtney. i'm bi-polar and medicated….boring! i really think she is living unmedicated and good for her. i felt the need to conform for my kids. she didn't. she had money and help. most mentally ill people are creative. medicate us and we're not. lucky her she can live naturally.

I don't know what Courtney is capable of doing now…she lost her way over the last 15 years. But LIVE THROUGH THIS is one of the greatest albums of the 90s, IMO. The song "Violet" is raw and brilliant!
Incoherent nonsensical ramblings does not = deep and profound. She needs to go dry up somewhere.

Oh dear god… She doesn't even understand her own lyrics. What a mess! And to answer your question no i'm not buying anything from that trainwreck whore. She never even accepted me as a friend on myspace. lol. But i am looking forward to the new Lady Gaga stuff and she atleast appreciates her fans which makes a true artist in my book.

COURTNEY LOVE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED. I can't wait for this album. HOLE IS ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVER AND "CELEBRITY SKIN" WAS incredible. There's NO one like Courtney. I can't wait for the album! I'm going to actually go to the store and buy it the day it comes out!!!!!!
Courtney has always been a poet, and she knows how to make you feel, and she knows how to express her own emotions so well.
