Outrageous spender Nic Cage is losing a piece of his National Treasure!

The actor's homes in New Orleans' French Quarter and Garden District will be auctioned off today due to unpaid mortgages.

The foreclosed properties include LaLaurie mansion, a 10,300-square-foot home and the even bigger 13,200-square-foot house complete with a double gallery and formal gardens.

And they are worth a pretty penny!

The houses are valued at $3.5 million and $3.3 million respectively!

Damn, we wonder how the much younger wifey is handling this!

Maybe he should learn how to use a checking account.

Ugh. Someone loan me $3.5 Mil - STAT! That LaLaurie mansion has some crazy history behind it.

He has/had quite a few properties. He got in over his head. I think he learned a valuable life lesson.

Aww…the haunted house is being auctioned off? Shame. LaLaurie's definitely got some interesting history.

Another Sub Prime Mortgage loan bits the dust….

Here's my tidbit on Nic Cage's extravagant spending habits we've been hearing so much of lately: I work for Jewelry Television (like QVC or HSN, but all jewelry and gemstones) and Nic Cage used to call in and order shit tons of gems. But they weren't for a lady–they were for his fishtanks. No joke. He used real gemstones to line the bottom of his exotic fishtanks. One day he called in irate because an expensive fish ate one of the gemstones and died. Seriously.

The LaLaurie House? I've been there. Why doesn't it surprise me that freaky Nic would want to own a haunted house. If the old stories are true that place has a frightfully gruesome past. Leave it to Perez to not pick up on the really interesting bits of the story.

I can appreciate someone having lots of money and can afford luxury things, but I still don't get how these celebrities WITH so much money can get in this position - especially when they are still working and putting out movies. WHo needs castles? Who needs TWO homes in New Orleans. What's wrong with just ONE? I don't get it!

Yet he blames it on his manager … c'mon fella … own up to your binge spending.
Don't feel sorry for you one bit.

He's also selling off two properties in Bath, England. One is a 19th century castle and the other a town house. He'll still be left with a third property in the area, near Glastonbury.
