T-Swizzle Makes CMA History!

At 19-years old, powerhouse Taylor Swift rocked the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday and let people twice her age know what they were up against.
She won all four awards for which she was nominated, making her the youngest person and first female solo act to win the Country Music Association's entertainer of the year award!
"I'll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me," said Swift, while accepting the highest honor of the night. "Every single person in that category let me open up for them this year. Thank you all so much. I love you."

She even nabbed album of the year for Fearless and video of the year for Love Story!!
Taylor brought her band on stage to help celebrate as fans cheered wildly. Her father was crying in the audience!
"You guys, this album is my diary and so to all the people who voted for me for this is a thank you for saying you love my diary because that's the nicest compliment," she continued.

I love Taylor Swift, but get your facts straight. She was NOT the first solo female act to win Entertainer of the Year. Shania won in 1999, Dolly Parton & Loretta Lynn have won in the past. Fact checking takes about 2 seconds on google

I am so happy for Taylor. Everyone else she was nominated against has won some major award already or has been around for years, so it was nice to see newer people winning in categories all around (Darius Rucker also made history, and a few others had surprise wins too).
I'm glad because I think Taylor genuinely appreciates it, and I feel like it's just going to motivate her to do even better.

She is sweet and I congratulate her on her win but last night she didn't sound so good live at all… and the whole show sucked in general!!
C'mon people, she's popular but she's not a great singer. Marginal talent. Sales are more important than talent. She's on the right track. Don't see it as a hate comment but a reality check.

I love TS! I don't think she has the best voice but she works hard, writes her own music, very relatable for young girls. She is the kind of role model young kids should have. She dresses appropriately and deserves everything she has gotten!
So much better than Miley Cyrus, who is a terrible role model and greatly contributing to the sad turn America's youth has taken.

i mean, taylor has great studio presence & her songs are cutesy. but this girl cannot sing for her life when it comes to singing live. it's a shame kenny chesney, keith urban & carrie underwood's hard work from this year was not awarded, i have seen all 3 of them in concert and taylor swift's voice does not hold a candle to them…..okay taylor stop your whining we get it you were 15 no one liked you, joe jonas dumped you. time to move on. honestly how can this girl win vocalist of the year when she can't sing?

She absolutely did not deserve to win Female Vocalist of the Year. Entertainer, maybe…that's still a stretch!! Actual fans of country music are extremely irritated with these results!! Check out some of the message boards on the web. That being said, I do admire Taylor for being a positive role-model and I am a fan. However, vocally, she doesn't begin to compare to Martina, Reba, Carrie or Miranda. She is not a strong vocalist and her opening number was awful!!

yeah….. I'm one of those people that's completely angry with the results of last night's show. You know Country music has taken a turn for the worst when it's worst singer wins female vocalist…. In my opinion they over looked everything but sales this year.

taylors awesome! i started tearing up for her when she won entertainer of the year, i'm so proud! i understand why people are pissed off about female vocalist.. even taylor has said many times she doesn't have the strongest voice, and i think she was a little shocked. she did deserve these awards though, she's overall an amazing musician.

several have already mentioned this, but its worth mentioning again Taylor isn't the first female or first female solo act to win CMA Entertainer of the year. Loretta Lynn was the first and there have been 5 females to win the award:
"In 1972, Lynn was the first woman named "Entertainer of the Year" by the Country Music Association, and is one of five women to have received CMA's highest award."

I love Taylor Swift. Her albums are awesome. She seems like a great person and is a very talented songwriter — That being said.. I think the Kanye incident really helped with this… I would imagine she got a lot of votes kind of as giving her another opportunity to win an award without an interruption. Kind of "the sympathy vote." I'm not questioning that she deserves to win awards, but it was crystal clear the minute the Kanye stuff went down that she was probably going to win everything she was nominated for the next while — kind of like a big FU to Kanye

I really don't understand the popularity of this teenager (who looks like a 40 yr old) - her music is NOT COUNTRY it is cheesy pop and poorly done at that. And has anyone actually seen her perform live??? One word - LAME. The music industry has gone to the dogs when someone like this can win awards.
