Taylor Swift Didn't Deserve To Win?!?
We already told you how Miz Taylor Swift rocked the Country Music Association Awards last night, beating out the competition.
T-Swizzle made CMA history when she won ALL four of the awards she was nominated for, making her the youngest person and first female solo act to win the CMA's Entertainer of the Year award since Shania Twain last year.
However, not everyone thinks she deserved the Entertainer of the Year Award. And no, this time it isn't Kanye West killing her moment.
It's Wynonna Judd giving her opinion when no one cares to hear it.
According to Judd, she thinks Taylor's too young to have won, even bringing God into it and talking about herself.
Says Wynonna:
"You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon. Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon. My thing is, being a home-school mom, I want kids to earn it, and I think some time … ’cause mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. You have to play catch up … It's like the girl who wins an Oscar and she's under 20. What do you do from here?"

Wynonna, honey, Taylor won Entertainer of the Year, not Entertainer of the Decade! And guess what, for the past year she's been on TOP of the charts. Where have you been?

I love, love Taylor Swift. Her music is fantastic, however, I do agree somewhat with Wynonna. I'm not trying to take away from Taylor's success. She desrves all of it. But, Wynonna is right.

I rarely agree with you Perezpuss but this is one time I do. It is Entertainer of the year and no one has done more for country music this year then Taylor Swift. She has outsold artists in every genre of music. sold out her concerts, charted more songs then any artist. She well deserved it no matter what her age is.

Wynonna is actually correct. What does Taylor have to shoot for now? This happens all the time. The latest thing and then they are gone and every one forgets who they were a year later. Taylor Swift is VERY talented. She is a sweet girl too. I applaud her many successes but sometimes fame comes too soon. Then what? Wynonna is vocalist beyond compare. She has the most innate talent. Her place on the charts has nothing to do with excellence. For God's sake, "The Macarena" was number one for a gazillion weeks and that group is no where to be found. Perez, its not about charts. It's about talent. When you finally learn that lesson you will actually have something to say worth listening to. It isn't about the latest thing. Its about the lasting thing. Success fades. True talent does not.
I've never thought Taylor Swift was particularly talented but she is a very popular entertainer. That is what the awards are about. Age only becomes a problem if she is overwhelmed by her success and loses her way.

I think it's cool Taylor won it so young. I don't anticipate her winning it for another few years, but she certainly worked for it considering she's all you ever heard about this year.

I agree with Wynonna on some points, most notably the fact that if Taylor succeeds in everything now, what will she have left to strive for?
As for her win, I think it's fantastic and well-deserved. I just hope that this train slows down a little bit so she can really savor all the recognition and awards, and not just let them fly by. I hope that there are more, even better successes in her future, and not only in the next year or two.

I dont get to see Taylor till May 2010 so i dont know how to say she is Entertainer wise? If the winer of Entertainer of the year is based on the amount of tickets sould to her concert then yes i think she is the top!
I really hate to be the one to say this but was she sober when making those comments? You would think between her reported alcohol problems and her husband in prison for being a predator on underage girls she wouldn't have any room to comment about anyone personal life. I'm a country music fanatic, and last year Carrie Underwood won entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. I was very upset because she beat out the same musicians that Taylor did. My thought was—- she hasn't even headlined her own show,, she hasn't shown us anything yet,etc. etc. etc. Kenny's shows were selling out fast, how could they do this. But last night when Taylor won, I felt that the person who most deserved the award for the past year won. Taylor has worked hard and has been everywhere. She has been a wonderful representative for the Country Music Scene. And keep in mind she not only sings but she writes all her own music! So what if she is only 19. She deserved the award. Congrats Taylor!!!!!!

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Wynonna on this one. In this era of instant fame and reality TV shows, people become way too famous way too soon because of the Internet and the media. There used to be a time when people had to actually WORK their way to the top. They had to play in small bars in the most horrible conditions before they actually got a record deal and got to play to large audiences. Nowadays, you can become famous overnight but the success never lasts for long. And Taylor's music is hardly country. It's folk/pop at best.

I think Judd is right from a philosophical standpoint, not a talent standpoint. There's no arguing T.S. earned that award. But I do get what she's saying. The way the industry works now is fast, fast, fast - new mediums in media make things happen much faster than they used to. It probably would be BETTER from a mental health perspective to rise slowly - but - T.S. seems to have a good head on her shoulders and I'm sure she'll be fine.

I love Taylor Swift and I believe that Wynonna admires her as well. She is not jealous of Taylor or hating on her. Wynonna was pretty much just telling it like it is. Yes, Taylor Swift sold million records but that in itself does not make her and entertainment entity. Wynonna is fantastic on stage and exciting to see. Taylor Swift…not so much. Wynonna is right in that you have to pay your dues in the entertainment business and that means lots of working the sources for your play time. The real star is one who lasts…not sure Taylor Swift has that ability. She may be the star "of the moment". Most country stars remain on top for about 3 years if that and then someone else comes along. W
ynonna can sell out an audience even now and give a FANTASTIC show…she is a seasoned star sort of like Cher and Madonna.

Different times, Whine-ona! Back then (in the dark ages), one had to work from scratch to crawl their way to the top. However, when you have a bigtime mogul on your side (Disney), you are going to bypass all that and hit a fanbase that is already there. Taylor may have reached the top fairly fast…but then again, she has talent. I'm thinking if it was YOU up there and you didn't have to bend and scrape way back when, I doubt you'd be turning down awards. And by the way…your last hit was when???
Anna Paquin won an Oscar at like 10 or 11 years old and she seems to be doing fabulously!

Where does she go frm here? Why should that be an issue when she has earned these awards? Let her decide where she wants to go from here. From here she can do anything she wants. She may go on to be an amazing entertainer, she may go on to be an amazing song writer, she may decide to drop out of entertainment and muck stalls somewhere…just because you receive awards like this at a young age does not mean that you have to stop living.
