With New Moon opening next weekend, the disaster flick will inevitably be knocked off its high horse, but for now 2012 is #1 at the box office!
Although critics had less than high hopes for the movie, the Sony Pictures flick is expected to earn over $61 million by the weekend's close, with a impressive $23.7 mil earned in ticket sales on Friday alone.

It was good, I enjoyed it, but I mean it was a long movie. Towards the end it started getting a little corny and by that time I was just hoping that everyone would just die.
It was bad ass, but totally fake! Overdone CG made it look wicked fake….

Everyone disrespects Christianity lately. This movie does and Curb your Enthusaism does too, but they never do it to Islam. Because they fear that Muslims will retaliate.

I saw it and was praying for it to end already. It's way too long and SUPER corny. The action in it is good but it's so predictable. Kind of makes your roll your eyes and think YEAH, what are the chances they'd survive THAT?
The movie was good but it was a bit too long ._. At the end I seriously just wanted it to be over. And of course there are some critical mistakes like for example -> People talking over cellphone even though there was no radio connection possible.
But the CGs were awesome

No, I haven't seen it and I'm not gonna. This movie is nothing more than a special effects extravaganza. We've seen it all before. And I don't wanna see a movie about the end of the world where only the rich and powerful are saved. I'm not a huge fan of the Twilight franchise but shit, I think I'm more interested in seeing New Moon than this piece of CGI crap.
Twilight bearly lasted 1 week in the number one spot. ONE WEEK! Then it dropped of the top 10 movies.
it was definitely fake how all those people lived, but it was good. slow at some parts but the action scenes were really good.
It was fun, if you know ahead of time to check your brain at the door. Forget everything you know about basic physics, etc. It's pretty over the top, but the special effects are worth it.
Curb is a jewish show based on a jewish man…when larry david says jews dont push their religeon on anyone hes right christians try to convert everyone (indians, chinese the WHOLE mnission thing)….the jews went through the holocaust. Leave their temples alone they suffered enough.. christianity is the one and only cause of MOSt wars in history.

Oh, God. Definitely the worst movie I have ever seen. It's unbelievable just how horrible this movie was. The acting was just awful. Every cliche was put in it. OMG. Just…wow. I don't know how John Cusack and Amanda Peet went through this movie with a straight face with such dialogue. Not only it was horrible, but it was too long. And did I mention how bad it looks? It looks TERRIBLE. Like it was shot with a $150 digital camera. My best bet is the director wanted a so-bad-it's-good cult status, but that's not going to happen. I can't imagine anybody enjoying this incredibly mind-numbing piece of garbage. It's an insult to your brain.

I'm so sick of the critics panning these movies that America likes to watch!!! It's like the Oscar's, how many times do you see a huge blockbuster nominated for awards like an Oscar?! Never!!!! I know these might not be considered the "best" movies, but these are the type of movies American's like to see!! 9/10 times, people don't listen to what the crtics have to say anyway!! I mean most of them are old anyway, of course their not going to admit to liking a movie like this!!!

I am a humanitarian, and I was crying on and off throughout the whole movie. I just don't handle seeing American buildings fall down over and over…. It was worth seeing though!!!

I thought 2012 was fantastic, it was long but interesting the entire time. The CGI was the best I have seen in a movie! I loved it including the funny homless lookin guy!

I read the comments to find out if the movie was worth seeing but to my dismay I found a lot of Muslim bashing. What's the deal with that? It's so sad to read simple minded comments. You know your simple minded if you believe any of the following:

4. Islam is a hate reliogion
5. Any religion is better than the other

9. Suicide bombs originate and/or are majority from Arabs
10. Democracy is the best thing for Arab and/or Muslim countries
I have heard many people make these comments like they are educated about Islam or have an understanding about the world around them. Please do the American people a favor and stop speaking about things you don't understand it is so embarrassing to our culture. People who make these types of comments also, if they ever travel, don't understand why so many people abroad are disgusted and cautious of Americans. My advice to you is just listen to yourself and you will understand.

The movie was great, as it comes to special effects. I would totally cut off all the corny moments, which would mean ALL the dialogues, I mean who writes this badly… This movie could have been really fantastic… but with the way it was done it was just good, full of action and totally nothing more.
i liked the effects, but is the typical american movie I expected more, I preffer the day after tomorrow

Saw it and liked it! Good movie.
I enjoyed all the action from the movie, but thought the family plot was kind of corny. The movie did make me feel anxious though and was on edge of my seat most of the time. Go see it for yourself

This video got a standing ovation at the threatre I was at. Though there is some stuff in it that doesn't make sense. For example:
Yellowstone erupted which is true, it can happen but when they were running away from the Fallout…it's like they seriously slowed down the Fallout just so the heroes could get away. Fallout is FAST. And as soon as that plane entered it just before they got away completely, it would of died from ash being in the systems and the second was at the end. The earth would soon be covered in Fallout and a nuclear winter would set in.
