No End To The Saw Franchise

Did U see Saw VI?

Probably not, since Paranormal Activity was running the box office at the time, but despite the piss poor returns on the latest installment of the Saw franchise, the studio behind it is ready to forge ahead on the next one.

In fact, the studio is so determined for the seventh installment, they are even shelling out the funds to put it in 3D! That costs a pretty penny. But the execs at Lionsgate think it is worth it, as it is a franchise that continually brings in a profit for them.

Vice Chairman Michael Burns was quoted saying: "As long as we make money on it we'll keep doing this."

Wow. So, we guess your kids we'll be enjoying Saw VVI! How exhausting and ridiculous!

    2. 2

      That is lame.

    3. 3

Rumor is they're making 8 of them. But now it looks like it may be 10.

P.S. - Perez, VVI is not a roman numeral. Way to go smart guy :-P

    4. 4

there is no VVI dumbass. That would be XI…

    5. 5

VVI is not a real Roman Number, numb nuts.

    6. 6

I went to see that movie about guys that watch " The View"…… " Men Who Stare at Goats" .

    7. 7

VVI??? what's that supposed to be? somebody skipped the Roman numbers class!!

    8. 8

not sure if you are trying to do 11 or 21 in roman numerals but either way you did it wrong it would be XI = 11 or XXI = 21
      yeah

    9. 9

LOL i saw PA and saw!
I cant wait for saw 100!

    10. 10

      VVI = I

      yay..

      and ps: fck saw

    11. 11

Maybe it's time to hire an editor!!!

    12. 12

      lawlss

      VVI = XI

    13. 13

way cool and learn your roman numerals perez

    14. 14

What you fail to realize is that SAW has a very large, and very assertive fan-base that will continue to invest their time and money in the franchise. Saw VVI? You're right. It must be quite a noggin scratcher for you to understand the dire complexity of SAW films if you are unable to comprehend Roman numerology.

    15. 15

      VVI?

      Umm, no.

    16. 16

      I'll pass

    17. 17

      VVI?
LMFAO!!! You could at least look up the roman numerals on the internet xD

    18. 18

old news. don't talk shit about movies you haven't seen.

    19. 19

That sounds lame. Then again, as mentioned previously, this franchise has a solid fan base and they will keep making these movies until even the hardcore fans get tired of them.

By the way, did you want to write VII? Because it didn't quite work out.

    20. 20

They should hire a real director and real actors.

    21. 21

do you mean your kids WILL be enjoying….??? YES.

      22

Oh God please, make it stop!!! This is beyond ridiculous. How many fucking sequels do we need???? They've already made 5 too many if you ask me.

      23

Saw VI is a Big phat FLOP=dont like it

    24. 24

Paranormal Activity was pretty much as shitty as the Saw movies.

    25. 25

i like how perez often highlights his own stupidity by making goofs such as VVI. even little school kids know that 11 in roman numerals is XI. go back to school fatass.

    26. 26

yay!!!! they can keeping making the movies as far as i'm concerned!!! and 3d would be awesome!

    27. 27

jajajajajaj Perez did not go to school…

    28. 28

They should do the videogame instead.

    29. 29

I've always been a fan of the Saw franchise but I really don't see where else they can go with the storyline. I loved Saw 1-3 but they've been getting a bit boring since that.

    30. 30

      i love the saw movies!
      keep them coming!!!

    31. 31

VVI?!?! there is no such number in Roman numerals LOL…

    32. 32

      LOL V V I ? LOLOLOL

    33. 33

      Bleh, who watches this stuff?
How could you enjoy watching someone screaming in pain and begging for their life while their eyes get plucked out?
      yeeech! fucking disgusting people

    34. 34

The very first one was SO great, and is still one of my favourites. I just have a selective memory and pretend that all the sequels never happend.

    35. 35

      DONT YOU MEAN "SAW XI"?
      (moron!)

    36. 36

Okay so how many of these damn Saw movies are they gonna make

    37. 37

get an education before you judge people you idiot

      its not 'VVI' its XI

    38. SMack says – reply to this

      38

old news perez.. all the saw fans knew about this a year ago

    39. 39

      VVI????? Go back to school.

    40. 40

are you fucking serious? this is getting annoying now…

    41. 41

I saw Saw VI because I love the franchise and VI is possibly my fav out of the series now. Paranormal Activity doesn't interest me at all.

No sure how the seventh would work but knowing the creators they had something in mind. Sucks if they put it in 3D though. I'd have to wait for the DVD / Blu Ray to watch it. :/

    42. 42

      Re: duelastar
@duelastar — just watch it in the theaters but don't wear the 3D glasses.

    43. 43

Numbers. NUMBERS! XII, XX, XXIX and so on!

    44. 44

Saw is disgusting enough without 3-FN-D!

    45. 45

Re: Rawrschach – The fan base is definitely large and dedicated, but as a hardcore Saw I and II fan, I was personally done after the third one. The concept has been lost and traded for profit. The reason I loved the movie is gone, and I think a lot of people feel like that, which will therefore hurt the profitability of future sequels. I think people will still go see it, of course, but I can honestly say I have no interest in Saw VI, VII, or any other sequels thereafter. I get that profit is important, but when it sacrifices art, I'm just not into it.

    46. 46

the first SAW was really, REALLY good and well thought out, it was the definition of an independant horror movie, way better than that Paranormal craptivity movie. The other saws however, are terrible, the last one I saw was the third one and I knew it had jumped the shark. What a shame, Hollywood exploits everything until it loses it's charm don't they?

    47. 47

I did see it. I think that the first one was the best. But I enjoyed this one only because I saw Michael Moore's Sicko (docu. on how sucky the US health
insurance industry is) a few days before on Comcast. It was nice to see the health insurance people get their due. It wasn't the best movie, but goes noicely with M.M.'s Sicko.

    48. 48

Ah, Perez. Too stupid to actually know how Roman Numerals work. Refreshing to see you can count on some things in 'hollywood'

    49. 49

I was a HUGE Saw fan, but now not so much. They are running it into the fucking ground and should have just stopped after the 3rd installment. Maybe Liongate should worry about fresh, new ideas as opposed to ruining a good horror franchise.
      Stupid/dumb.

    50. 50

haha paranormal activity is full of lols. can't believe i wasted my money on that shit, i would have rather seen Saw VI than that anyday.

    51. 51

How little money do these movies have to make before they will stop making them?

    52. 52

Wow.. Just wow.. That explains a lot.. WTF is VVI ??? I thought Perez was stupid but this just beyond stupid. Wow.. I'm speechless. Retard needs to go back to school!

    53. 53

I don't mind the story line its the only horror (apart from japanese horror) that we watch, but 3D I don't think so… too freaky..Also i really don't know how much further they can take it.

    54. 54

I thought they were under contract to do twelve? Eh well. So long as they can keep the story good, I'll keep watching.
