New Moon Already Breaking Records

Looks like New Moon will definitely be a hit. Especially if the pre-sale tickets are any indicator!

According to Fandango, the Twilight sequel has already become the top-selling pre-release title in the company's 10-year history.

New Moon has beat out Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, which is now the second fast selling pre-sale, followed by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Dark Knight, and Twilight.

And with New Moon not even being released until November 20th, there's still more time for the numbers to add up.

The sequel is also making up 86% of Fandango's weekly ticket sales.

Fandango COO Rick Butler added that "For many fans, it's the year's most anticipated film event. Ever since tickets went on sale in September, it's been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers, as New Moon has a strong pull on audiences. We're seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family."

Duh!

      I absolutely hated the first film, it was the most ridiculous vampire movie EVER. It grosses me out how much people are anticipating this new movie.
      I walked out before the ending and I'm glad I did. From what I've heard I, would hate Twilight even more if I had seen the whole thing.

      The twilight piece of sh** saga is for annoying 15 year olds who do not know a good vampire movie and quite frankly, I feel sorry for them.

      new moon yes I got my tickets for Saturday the day after it comes out reserved seating so I wont have to wait in line. We bought in mass there are 8 of us going

      The other movie also had a lot of pre-sales, but the movie BARELY made 200 million worldwide. It's not a big deal if everyone who actually cares about that crap goes to see the movie on the same night.

      Yah, all of the acting pretty much leaves a lot to be desired, like that scene in Twilight where Bella steps into the bio lab and Edward gets some crazy eyes and slams his hand down on some papers; the entire theater broke out in giggles. But that's not why people see it… it's a fun flick! Can't wait!

      You are absolutely right. These books and movies are way overrated.
      How about the new Dark Shadows film by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins set for 2011? Cannot wait for that one. That I will buy tickets for!
      Finally a great new vampire film in the works! Barnabas Collins is the most iconic vampire other than Dracula and without Dark Shadows there would be no Twilight and probably no Vampire Chronicles.
