It has been reported that CNN gave Lou Dobbs $8 million in severance pay for leaving CNN.
Wow! Is Lou actually worth that much?
Why would CNN do that?!
According to inside sources, Lou was actually asked to bow out of the rest of his year and half contract because CNN couldn't stand him! They wanted him OUT! Obviously, badly enough to dig really dig to pay for him to go!
It's no secret that CNN boss Jonathan Klein and Lou were never on the best of terms, but to put out that kind of money to make Lou leave, well, that sounds like the hate runs deep.
No word yet what Lou plans to do next. Although, with that kind of money, he could spend a while trying to figure it out.

CNN wants to take a more neutral direction and I respect their opinion. Fox News carries right-leaning programs and CSNBC carries left-leaning programs. Fox News is ahead because they are exposing Obama's lies while the other two won't - they are too scared of losing popularity! It is a little sad that CNN is joining this group

Making him leave with absolutely nothing would have been much more hateful, and more expensive in the long run. This is just two professional entities parting ways in a diplomatic way. I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that if they tried to oust him without a hefty severance then Lou would have a great case for a breach-of-contract civil suit. They'd end up spending a lot more than $8 million *and* get drug through the mud in the public eye if they tried any nonsense like that.
CNN is supposed to be an independent news program, and they did not appreciate his personal opinions (nor did I). He'll probably go to Fox aka Fake News!
It may be just this picture, but that is one of the ugliest faces I have ever seen. Maybe his vitriol on tv would have been more tolerable had he been better looking.
I might add however that Lou Dobbs always made it clear that he was not anti immigrant, only anti illegal immigrant. Hard to argue with that…no amount of white washing can make illegal legal.

One thing I love about Lou is how BIG of a hypocrite he is. His son is married to an emigrate. His grandkids are half Filipino. Does he hate them too? I have a friend from Europe who has paid thousands of dollars to become a legal citizen and when through a ton of bullshit.
