Pete Wentz Opens Up About Fall Out Boy
Pete Wentz is finally publicly admitting what we've all known for a while now, Fall Out Boy was ruined due to Ashlee Simpson. Sorta.
The rocker blames part of the problem on his much publicized marriage to Asslee as a "hindrance" for the band. But he mostly blames himself and the fame he's received.
According to Wentz, he thinks his relationship with lip-synching Asslee has placed him in the gossip columns too often and has had a negative impact on the band.
Wentz then decided he wanted to keep his "celebrity persona" from overshadowing the band. He says, "My biggest personal reason for taking a break is that I feel my name has become a hindrance for the band." Adding that frontman Patrick Stump "is a musical genius and it's unfortunate that he gets reviewed based on whatever's going on in my personal life or how my hair looks. I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz."
Pete continues, "A lot of people think Fall Out Boy is me. But it's the four of us. I want to f**king vomit when I read intros that say, 'Pete Wentz: accidental internet poster boy.' It makes me feel ugly."
In the mean time, the band members have decided to take an indefinite break from the group while they all work on their solo projects.
What will Simpson say about Pete blaming her???

I think (I know) it would bring many more people to see Fall Out Boy than would ordinarily come, thus exposing more to the music. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's all bonus publicity, but Fall Out Boy (all FOUR of them) have to back up this free boost with some great tunes. People know there are four members of Fall Out Boy. It's just that the other three are maybe more free to bop around somewhat anonymously, and that's another bonus, believe me. Anyway, any Pete Wentz publicity that I've seen has been almost entirely positive, and has made Wentz seem like a really nice guy. Not to worry, IMO.

He's right……i mean i was a huge Fall Out Boy fan way, way, way before they were even playing stadiums! Even when they started playing stadiums I was there, front row, having a bitchin time with my friends. Then when all this Ashlee Simpson stuff started, it all became really artificial and I wasn't sure where the line between the band and the celebrity was. I do think Ashlee is the Yoko Ono of Fall Out Boy I just hope Pete thinks she's worth alienating all of, not only his fans, but the fans of the other members of the band.

When they started dating everyone talked about that instead of Fall Out Boy or Ashlee's new CD and their record labels tried to ride that wave instead of promoting their music careers, that's why her CD sold so bad, ’cause they never promoted it. Pete Wentz, I always knew I loved you. I respect them so much for taking a break for a while and trying to make themselves legit again. Now that's just not fair. Ashlee Simpson's a better singer than Yoko Ono. Her third album was terrible, but still better than a Plastic Ono Band record
