Sen. John Kerry's Daughter Arrested!

Senator John Kerry's daughter was just busted earlier this morning on suspicion of DUI!!!
Alexandra Forbes Kerry was pulled over for a traffic stop in Hollywood at around 12:40am after the 36-year-old apparently violated a traffic law.
The cops then did a field sobriety test and it appeared she was under the influence, so they arrested her. However, when asked if she wanted to take a preliminary alcohol screening test, she refused.
NOT a good sign.
The cops then took her to the station and conducted a formal blood alcohol test, which showed she was at .06, below the California legal limit of .08.
Kerry was booked at LAPD's Hollywood station and released at 5:25am today.

my dad's a lawyer and he has said that you should always refuse the on site breathalyzer if you've had ANYTHING to drink at all.

This sounds like a NON-NEWS event. It is bogus. Basically, you have a 36 yr. old woman, pulled over for a traffic violation. She has the right to refuse the blood alcohol test. So they arrest her and force her to give one at the station. Where it is PROVEN that her blood alcohol level was LEGAL. She is then released. With a ticket. Duu-uhhh!
It's not a lucky break if she wasn't drunk, Perez. It means she wasn't drunk and we should all be happy. And I advise anyone to refuse the initial screening. Those machines are not allowed in a court of law as a producer of evidence because they are unreliable. Always wait for the blood test. In this case, waiting it out means she gets to walk away.
Whether your sober or under the influence, you have the right to refuse a sobriety test. It's typical protocol. Why don't you ignorant people actually learn your facts before you post derogatory comments about other people, just for your amusement?

you can STILL get a DUI, not matter how LOW your BAC is.. my friend got a DUI at .06%. i've heard of people getting them at .01%. doesn't matter! not even sure why they have a "legal limit" cause it doesn't mean shit! it is up to the DA to decide if they want to charge her…hopefully they do, so they will make an example out of her.

hasselhoff, you have no idea what you're talking about. They wouldn't be able to charge her with a DUI unless she was above the limit (that's the law-look it up). They would have to find something else to charge her with (like reckless driving) and I would hope they wouldn't go fishing for charges and waste taxpayer dollars doing so for a whopping .06. No one will learn a lesson from her. She probably had a whole glass of wine to attain that level. And Perez, refusing the breathalyzer is the same as your right to remain silent. Why should you help the police make their case?!

So, I am not seeing how her not taking the test was not a good sign. She still took the blood test so it's not like she refused to be tested all together.
