This is AWESOME! I love my pitties–I am a mentor/volunteer for a pitty program in my area.. I foster, help shape them up.. thx perez for posting this!!!

  2. 2

This is a great rescue! They work very hard to find loving homes for misunderstood dogs.

  3. 3

I love that this was posted! Pit bulls are my favorite dogs:)

  4. 4

THANK YOU PEREZ! I WROTE TO YOU AWHILE AGO AND ASKED YOU SPEAK UP FOR ALL THE ABUSE THIS BREED DEALS WITH. PITBULL LOVE!

I've see this rescue out about many times, especially @ PetCo. They are an OUTASTANDING rescue. I love running into them and seeing the dogs. I understand why they have a bad stigma but if people met the animals/volunteers working with this charity they'd change their mind! Outstanding post Perez!

Pitbulls should be eradicated as a race of dogs. They have killed and maimed people for years.

pit bulls have changed my life! i will be blessed if i can live every day of the rest of my life with a loyal pit bull by my side. i philosophized as to why pits get such a bad rap and i think its just that these beings are so special that they arent meant for just any person. it takes a good dog owner who understands the breed to be lucky enough to be in the presence of a pit bull. owners of pits know exactly what i mean while the rest of the world misses out on something truly special and unique. i've grown up with labs, mutts, beagles….but nothing compares to my pitbulls.

Re: curiousred – @ 6 - and small minded people like yourself should eradicated from the human race

  9. 9

as someone who has had pit bulls all my life i love this. they are the most loving dogs i've ever known. they get a bad rap. most of it is because PEOPLE train them to fight not because it's the dogs choice. thanks for posting this perez

of course, all rescue dogs should be spayed or nuetered. Pits should not be in a household with young children, period.

  11. 11

    Awh, I love it

  12. 12

Thank you Perez! I rescued a pittie..unfortunately it was too late..but he is an sweet ANGEL. I have never met an inherently mean pit bull aka Staffordshire Terrier

  13. 13

This is SO great! Thanks for posting this! I have three rescued pitties and they are so wonderful. My dogs love kids & cats.
    @lalalala - you're an idiot.
All dogs should be spayed & neutered and no dog should be left alone with small children.
My neighbors beagles are far more vicious than my dogs.

  14. 14

I love when I hear about someone caring about Pit Bulls! They are beautiful and wonderful dogs who have gotten a bad image people of bad people.. Mine is 7 now and is the most loving and caring dog I have ever owned.. I urge good people to open their minds and hearts to this breed and give them a chance.

Another phenomenal post! Someone's doing their celebrity homework as well as being compassionate and informative.

Re: curiousred – I usually like your posts but now you sound like the uniformed, hateful masses.

  17. 17

Re: curiousred – Boy, are you stupid and/or uneducated? PEOPLE have killed and maimed pit bulls for years. Every pit bull is born sweet, loving and loyal, but you can only torture and abuse them so much before they snap, just like EVERY OTHER LIVING CREATURE. Please start educating yourself.

If the owners are good, their pitties usually reflect that. Canine rescue groups country wide are feeling this financial downturn. They are all good causes.

  19. 19

MUAH. Love you Perez for doing this. Seriously, Pitbulls are ridiculously adorable, funny, and protective. They're like THE perfect dogs. I don't know why a buncha dumbasses started the rumor that they are these mean, vicious "killing machines". Yeah, if you TRAIN them to be killing machines, they probably will be (just like human beings). I'm sure every dollar counts to organizations like this, so please donate guys :)

Pittielove Rescue is the best (just like you Perez)!! I adopted my 3 year old pitbull from the rescue about a year ago. My pitbull is very sweet, loving, and social. They are such a misunderstood breed and deserve to live a life free of abuse. The bad reputation that this breed receives is because of bad owners out there. This breed was affectionately called the "Nanny Dog" because they are such reliable and loving family dogs! Thanks Perez!!!

  21. 21

is this a joke pit bulls misunderstood. wtf. since most dog attacks are caused my pitbulls, wateva this is i would never adopt one they're ferocious mutts yuk

  22. 22

You just showed how misunderstood they are…educate yourself and you will see that these are amazing pets, loyal, extremely overly friendly, and loving. You like many others have been come to believe things that just are not true and these poor loving dogs suffer for it. So sad.

No more vicious than golden retrievers, beagles or other popular dogs! In a recent study of 122 dog breeds by the American Temperament Testing Society (ATTS), pit bulls achieved a passing rate of 83.9%. That's as good or better than beagles … 78.2%, and golden retrievers … 83.2% etc…. How did your favorite breed do?

Pit bulls have enjoyed a long history as favorite children's companions and family pets. When well socialized and properly raised, they're the perfect breed to tolerate the rough and tumble play that kids can dish out. Pit bulls tend to be drawn to the joyful optimism of children and love to meet them with tails awaggin'!

  23. 23

Wow- pitbull lovers really are the stupidest people on earth! fact is pitbulls can do serious damage & kill people due to their "unique" mouth that locks on to their victim & does not let go. i don't care how you raise them- if they snap for any reason it is their innate instinct. anyone who puts them around children should be shot- does anyone read the news around here? there are horrible attack stories that happen all too frequently. plus- owners can go to jail for their pitbulls attack. i am a diehard dog lover- but people- use some common sense! go ahead & adopt them (they definitely fill up the shelters due to irresponsible owners who don't get them fixed)- but keep them to yourselves & if they are around anyone else- MUZZLE THEM!!!

  24. 24

Re: cookies&cake – I am sorry to hear you tossing around the word stupid so carelessly when you seem to have bad information their jaws do not "lock"… Please do not be so naive to believe all that you hear actually do your own research. As a "diehard dog lover" I am sure you would be surprised and saddened for these Dogs. Clearly you have never had one to know one.
A pit bull's ability to "lock on" with it's jaws is one WHOPPER of a myth that refuses to let go! The jaws of a pit bull are built just as any other dog's jaw. There's no 'enzyme', no special mechanism that would make a pitbull's jaws 'lock'. They're DOGS, not alligators! What a pit bull does have is strength, tenacity, and determination. As do many other dogs.
Dalmations, German Shepards (police dogs for a reason), Chow Chow etc are "dangerous dogs." Pitbulls get all the negative press. Do you think that other dogs dont attack or fight? You just dont hear about it the public are not interested. They just dont get the air time they are not as "newsworthy " as the big bad pitbull. Any dog can be dangerous if trained in such a way.
I am thankful for organizations like this that seem to be fighting a losing battle because of misinformed people like yourself spreading incorect information. Thank you Perez for posting this!

  25. 25

Re:KMizzy sorry to tell you- i am not misinformed & i am not spreading false information. i personally know of a pitbull attacking a small dog & four grown men couldn't pull the pitbull off because the jaw was not letting go. you can argue the term locked all you want- but that pitbull did some serious damage to the other dog.i see in a previous post you actually compare pitbulls to golden retrievers- that is truly laughable. it is obvious pitbull lovers hate the stereotype that is out there-but i would have more respect for them if they just accepted the facts & loved the pitbulls anyway, instead of always denying any danger.

  26. 26

Re: cookies&cake – KMizzy is right. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your personal experience with the breed but any dog can be dangerous.
