There's a new cooking competition in town!

NBC has just greenlit the pilot for the tentatively titled United Plates of America and the prize is HUGE!

The winner gets to launch their own chain of restaurants with four outlets opening the week of the show's finale!

Created by the Top Chef producers, contestants have to win over potential investors with their own restaurant concept, menu and business savvy.

Sounds delicious!

There is getting to be an overload of chef shows. One hit, and copycats and variations show up on all the networks. How many of these shows do we need?? Some original thinking would be appreciated for a change.

Four outlets in one week to a new chef? Then you wonder why America is in a recession

I love cooking shows…. but a chain of restaurants in this economy? NBC should file for a government bail out in advance.

And then do we get to watch them fail like Rocco Dispirito's restaurant did on TV?

Can't the US be creative with any of their shows?

Too bad that NBC OWNS Bravo, so uh, no matter what, NBC is raking in the cash on viewership for both shows.
