Brangelina Gave $6.8 Million To Charity!
Not a surprise!!!
According to the 2008 tax return for the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, Brad and Saint Angelina gave $6.8 million to charities last year.
The foundation earned over $13 millionm and half of their account went to the following recipients: Global Health ($2 million), Human Rights Watch ($1 million) and Pitt's Make it Right Foundation ($1 million), which builds eco-friendly homes for Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.
The couple also gave $500,000 to the Armed Services YMCA of the U.S. Army and to Springfield, Missouri Public Schools. Not to mention, about a million dollars to projects in Cambodia.

The Angelina bashing that the tabloids have been engaging in recently just shows that they are running out of stories to print and need to make things up to create drama as Angie always sells mags-well, they are tabloids after all…

well rather than pay that money to taxes of course they would rather give to charity, have a good name and have idiots that fall for it like you. generous decision but either way they were gonna have to give the money so why not to charity?

I have a question for some tards dissing on this great couple. If it's a tax write off then why doesn't other more wealthy donate, it's not like any sweat off thier asses right? Simply hoarding your money for whatever reason seems so empty and meaningless if it's a tax write off anyhow. Go ahead and keep your head implanted in your ass you haters, Angelina and Brad will continue to spread their love with or without you.

When a celebrity is said to get say $20 Million for a movie they don't really get to keep that much money. They have to pay the tax, pay for security and a whole bunch of other stuff. They might end up with $6 Million once all their expenses have been paid.

Hmmm yeah its kind of cool but I would be less suspicious of their philanthropy if it wasn't so friggin public and all. I don't alert the media when I donate.
I'd also give a little more if I pulled that much each year. Nor would I rub my completely self indulgent giant sized lifestyle in peoples faces quite so much.
I just don't see how you can carry on living so large when you've actually been to the camps and the warzones and seen how so many millions are surviving while you're sipping cocktails on your zillionth holiday for the year. Super rich people piss me off even when they're flipping their loose change at fashionable causes.

The difference is many celebs don't need to ADVERTISE the fact that they donate and let everyone know about it - its done anonymously. Why do you assume that nobody else is donating because you don't hear about it ???? These two are the king & queen of their own spin - and it seems that fools are still falling for it.

They also donate additional funds outside their foundation. I don't know what the hell you are talking about "advertising." This info was pulled from a tax return for their charitable organization the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, therefore it is a public record and I bet some magazine got access to the info for an article. They created their own foundation because they donate so regularly and can make sure the money goes where it should.
I hear about Oprah, Paul McCartney, Bono, etc and all their amazing donations too. And the reason I hear about those people the most is that Forbes releases a list of the most philanthropic celebrities every year and these names (including Brad & Angie's are always on it).

This is SO misleading. They are spinning this. They give, but not THAT much.
For instance, in 2008 Brad donated $956,961 to this foundation and Angie donated $1,194,911. E! tv donated $250,000 and there are more. It is a foundation. Anyone can donate. THE $6.4 million figure is money that was donated to the foundation by not just themselves but others and once it was donated to that fund, it HAD to go to charity. I can donate to the fund, you can donate to the fund, then they can give all of our funds in their own name.
We need to stop being so gullible.
BTW, you can even go give right now online to the Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation. A different foundation, but another one of their charities.
Bottom line, they only donated of their own funds a fraction of the six million. Would someone kindly call them out? They could stand to give a bit more.

Jolie and Pitt are EACH paid about $20 million per picture. If the each do two films per year, that's $80 million dollars - and they usually do more than that. Pitt also takes home a BIG paycheck as Producer on many Box Office hits. Do really believe that $6.8 million is a LOT now? Please.

it's nice that they donated money, don't get me wrong - BUT, they could have done a lot more…many celebs donate even more of their paycheck and don't blab about it.
This is one of the main reasons why I like them…no matter how famous they get, they always give back tremendously.
Even though they both obviously donate a lot of money to charity, I really don't think it's as meaningful as something that would require more of a sacrifice than a tiny percentage of the amount of money they make from one film. I'm a 17-year-old girl. Last summer, I volunteered with special-needs babies at a pediatric hospital in a poor Eastern European country. I paid my own way ($5000) using my own hard-earned money, giving up Christmas presents, and giving up my allowance for 2 years. I cannot even begin to explain how meaningful and incredible my volunteer experience was, especially because I had to give up so much of my own things in order to go. Brad and Angelina should get out of their comfort zones a little more and try to do something actually meaningful to them, instead of just donating a bunch of money, which is convenient, impersonal, and basically just used as opportunities for photo shoots.
Brad & Angie are such good people. May they continue to be happy and successful.
