Adam Lambert's sexually-charged performance of his latest single, For Your Entertainment, at the American Music Awards featured the American Idol alum simulating oral sex with a male dancer, making out with one of the band members and plenty of crotch grabbing so naturally he's the subject of controversy.

I absolutely agree with Adam… The show is for entertainment only… Many ethical issues get brought in, but it is just a performance. I honestly did not find it shocking or offending… I just wanted to see what Adam was going to do. The dancers were amazing… I thought the entire performance was good and entertaining!

Sure, be that creative and do your thing on tour where people are specifically GOING to see what you do. I'm a big Adam Lambert fan and while I found his performance entertaining, it wasn't the right performance for a primetime awards show on network television. Would have been much better suited for the VMA's or the like.

You watch any other performance of the night there was standing ovation. I really don't know how I feel about the whole thing. I think it is wrong to edit out the Kiss with the keyboard player as men and women kiss all the time on TV. Even the distant pull back shot of it disappointed me (although I frankly had a hard time determining the gender of the keyboard player myself).
Since he is gay it would have been nice to see the dancers limited to men for him to interact with but neither his record company or ABC were going to allow that.
As to any simulation of oral sex on national prime time T.V. I have to say I could have done without it (with any gender/sexual orientation matchup) as I am sure many parents could have as well.

I truly believe that being gay is not a personal choice so being homophobic or anything of that matter is just as bad as being racist. But this performance was beyond crude. A person's sexual life is a private matter, whether you're straight OR gay. Unfortunately, while Adam is trying to be a gay rights activist, I can tell you as a Republican, he is going about it all wrong. Whether the gay community likes it or not, the change needs to happen gradually and in a non-threatening way. Over TIME, not over night, do norms change. When thoughts that threaten people's core belief's are thrust at them in such an explicit manner people will instinctually pull back and defend their beliefs.
Best of luck to the gay community, I truly hope they can forgive Adam for this set back in their fight for equality.

I agree with (apoetsmuse). Some of these so-called artists are using sex to sell the cds. Knowing that their live singing sucks. I noticed some of the other performers didn't sound so hot singing live on the show either. All this bumping and grinding (from both male and female) doesn't need to be if you are a great singer and not looking for attention just to sell you music. It is amazing what a good recording studio and staff can do to make a not so good singer sound great.
