Is Regis Leaving Kelly?

It would be the end of an era!

Regis Philbin announced today that he is taking a leave of absence from his morning show, Live with Regis and Kelly, to recover from his upcoming hip surgery.

78-year-old Reg will be leaving the show beginning on December 1 and into 2010.

We wish him a speedy recovery!

Who else could sit in that chair next to Kelly Ripa?

OH NOOO.. I love Regis and I will miss him!! For a replacement though my vote goes to Anderson Cooper. I love when he is on, he is adorable!

He needs to retire. He doesn't research his guests. He asks stupid random questions. And referring to Robert Pattinson as "Bob", twice, show's he's getting a little soft upstairs.

Anderson Cooper should replace him. (Won't even dignify the Perez comment here).

I've gone around and around on this–Kelly without Regis, more annoying, less annoying? Or even more annoying than usual? The producers should take this opportunity to dump Kelly too, and start over.

The show is old and tired. Regis is legendary, but time takes its toll.
Don't watch the show because both hosts are predictable & boring.
But I wish Regis the best of luck with his surgery.

The show would never be the same again if Regis were to leave but my vote would be for NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, I think he is great on the show whenever he fills in for Regis. I like Anderson but I find him a little too "stiff" in that type of environment.

Anderson Cooper is the best choice. Classy like Regis, and great chemistry with Kelly. Besides, CNN seems to be tanking, so he should prepare to replace Regis once he retires (even though no one can really replace Regis!!)
