Lucky break for the senator's daughter!

Alexandra Forbes Kerry, daughter of John Kerry, was brought in by the LAPD last week for a DUI but the City Attorney will not prosecute her because her blood alcohol level was at .06.

The legal limit in California is .08.

Close call!

Better keep the boozing to a minimum Alexandra or you'll be giving those Bush twins a run for their money!

      It's not a lucky break. A lucky break would be if she wasn't prosecuted even though she was drunk (which would also be a giant mistake). Why don't you get it, Perez. She wasn't drunk so she wasn't prosecuted. And good, because California can't afford to prosecute for shits and giggles.

      Yeah, pretty much all field sobriety tests are done at the scene unless the suspect refuses to do so, then they take you in an get a court order that forces you to take one– or they'll take your blood. Cops keep the breathalyzer kits in their car. Refusing can have its own consequences. It's possible that she failed the breathalyzer test, then insisted on having blood test– which is more accurate– and passed that one. More likely, the good Senator pulled a few strings in CA with people he knows there.
