Amazeballs!

Dame Julie Andrews will return to the UK stage for the first time in 30 years! The iconic singer will sing songs from her stage and screen hits on May 8th at London's O2 Arena while accompanied by an ensemble of five and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has barely sung since her 1997 throat surgery that impaired her vocal cords, yet she has pioneered treatment to rehabilitate her voice.

"To perform once again in my homeland on the London stage will be a wonderful moment - it is where it all began for me," stated Andrews. "I am so excited to be able to share a brand new work with audiences."

We can't wait!

I love her! She's aged so gracefully too! Looks MUCH better than these botoxed bimbos you see around Hollywood…

Does anyone else out there understand that it would be very bad for us to not let Anya Romanov I give Lady Julie Andrews her congratulatory flowers after her performance?? THIRTY years since her last PERFORMANCE??

Yes, Lady Julie Andrews is probably going to whip the bouquet at ANYONE who DARES to declare THAT this IS not a sign from GOD that Anya Romanov has Julie Andrews AS her way to stay WITH the game!?

So many the world over will be clambering for the opportunity to see IT. Will Viggo Mortensen dive on stage; toss the flowers and due the dive OR will Anya Romanov make her first public appearance on stage since she flashed her tits on stage with AC/DC in 1976. Okay; it became part of the routine. Get Dash to lift her shirt WHEN the bottom stage door opens; then all the tortured peoples of the world can RUN to the underground. THEY have been warned. SHE is actually quite ugly under the shirt, best you run, don't LOOK!!

And to let ANTESUP Judee KNOW!!, I did get a support cheque on Monday. Thank you. Nice shorts. I KNOW!! Whomp them!! Al and I just hope that it doesn't bounce…. Still forgets to put the right pressure on Billy Bishop's sons printing press, doesn't he??

Anya Blah, blah, blah The Undead Again Zombie Mother of Blog-Doom

Her greatest hits album is a lot of fun, Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, Camelot, The Sound of Music and Thoroughly Modern Millie, plus many more.
I am not so sure about the O2 arena, I would rather see multiple dates at a West End Theatre, but alas her voice may not be up to that.

      She's still beautiful!

I bought my ticket today!!! SO exciting!!!

    14. 14

i luv her…. how old is she anyway?

    15. 15

The world is a nicer place because her beautiful smile is still radiating. Same with Angela Lansbury, Olivia DeHavilland, Lauren Bacall and a select few other icons remaining from a classier era in Hollywood and Broadway. When they are gone, we'll all be the poorer. Julie, you look awesome. GO girl!

    16. 16

I'll gladly fly to London to see her..!! ONly a short flight..Dublin to London! This is a chance in a lifetime! I can't wait to see her!!

    17. 17

This excites me. I would love to hear this wonderful women sing again. She stands for everything that was great about the good old days. I'd much rather watch her movies than any of the tripe thats released these days. Not even a spoon full of sugar makes today's shit go down a bit better. Dame Andrews, I salute you.

Re: paramoretaylorlautnerluver234 – She is 74 years young.
      ——————————————————————
She has won 3 of the big 4 awards, Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy. She has been nominated 3 times for a Tony (but declined her Victor/Victoria nomination because the musical was otherwise snubbed) but has yet to win.
If the Tony committee is not to pissed and awards her with a "special award", she won't quite be listed with the artists who have won all four competitively (of which there are 10) but join Barbara and Liza who have won three and then a "special award" in the fourth category.

    22. 22

I would love to see he. Entertainers of this caliber are a rarity these days!

    28. 28

    29. 29

She gets better with age. Simply beautiful.

    30. 30

      love her!

    31. 31

Love love LOVE HER. What a class act!

    32. 32

Right, a press release on the venue website suggests that she won't be singing much herself. Instead, she'll be reading a children's book she's written with her daughter - with musical accompaniment from the Royal Phil. Meanwhile, five 'stars' from the West End and Broadway will perform songs from her films and shows.

That's all well and good, but with $150 buying you a ticket stuck against the far end ceiling of one of the largest music venues in the world and ticket prices rising to a whopping $1,185 each (what does the poor 74 year old woman have to do to please you THAT much?!), this sounds pretty dodgy to me.

Julie is lovely and I love her old films and albums as much as the next queer, but is this really likely to be the biggest thing in showbiz history?

    33. 33

      love her

    34. 34

Yeah, rock it girl!!!!!!!!!! So glad you're back.

    35. 35
