While selling more than 410,000 copies of her debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, in the first week of release in the UK, Susan Boyle is breaking records.
Not only does she have the most pre-ordered CD in Amazon history, but she replaces Leona Lewis' record of most albums sold by a debut artist in the first week of release in the UK.
And sales are expected to pass one million by the end of the week in the United States!!!
Insane! People just don't buy CDs like that anymore!
“In America, Susan is already outselling Rihanna, Lady GaGa and 50 Cent with a projected first week sales figures of around a million,” said her spokesman.

It's so huge that even Simon Cowell felt the need to put his two cents in!
“I’m incredibly proud of Susan. The success could not not have happened to a lovelier person. She did it her way and made a dream come true. In Britain’s Got Talent she opened her mouth and the world fell in love with her, which is why her album has been the fastest selling of any woman making her debut,” he said.
Susan is also set to break Feminem's record for highest first week US sales in 2009.

There is enough to go around folks!!! Different types of music altogether! So happy for Susan though! She represents every singer who has had this dream! And, I think the incident with the quilt was a joke…she IS a jokester…and getting the quilt, pretending to take a nap and sucking her thumb…sounds like she was funning, not having a childish breakdown. Have some fun, just not at the expense of others…well…try at least.

Don't send a parade of hate replies to this. Although, I congratulate Susan on this incredible feat. It upsets me because, back in the early to mid 90's Mariah had those customers on lock. And then…she changed. Although I still love her. Her sales aren't like they used to be and that upsets me. But anyway great job Susan, you deserve it!

I actually bought her album and found it boring beyond belief. All of the songs sound the same and are completely lack-luster. I was very disappointed. Her talent is definitely limited to a small scale of notes and ability.

I'm surprised, honestly, but I am also happy for her.
I, too, think this will be it for her. The "gimmick" that will sell this CD is her made-for-tv moment of triumph. And, I think her audience is older, and that's why they're still buying CDs.

Great! Susan Boyle deserves her huge success, and Simon Cowell, too, deserves kudos for sticking loyally with her. Why does anyone begrudge her success. Clearly there's room for her and for another great lady–Lady Gaga.

I'm not a fan, but I'm glad that she is getting the success she deserves. She's not like other female artist that focuses on good looks with no talent. She has a lovely voice and needs to be shared to the world.
I have her CD, and I do enjoy it, but like most debut efforts, it lacks depth. What is significant about her sales is that it reveals just how large a potential audience is being underserved by the music industry.
I love SuBo — yes, she's rather limited as a vocalist, but she's talented enough, and her voice is pleasing to the ear. I'm proud of her. She deserves all the praise she's getting. It's her time in the sun.

She picked perfect songs which show how sentimental and good nature she is. Thank you sweet lady for sharing with us your talent. Don't let the tabloids, media etc. get on your nerves they just want a story they do it to avery famous person. Susan is on top of the world all she needs to do is sing forget about the rest.
