Adam Lambert Sort Of Apologizes Again
Adam Lambert appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and discussed his performance at the American Music Awards.
The budding superstar expressed a hint of regret saying:
"I forgot that this was the first time people were seeing me on TV again after Idol…I think in hindsight, I look back on it and I go, 'Okay, maybe that wasn't the best first impression to make again or the first second impression.'"
Ellen also made a great point by stating if you're going to be offended by a sexual performance, you should be offended by ALL sexual performances.

I'm glad he admits his wrong, inadvertedly. I wish he would have outright said he was wrong. But it's whatever. He was very good here, I'm happy he understands what he did was less than acceptable. i think we are offended by all sexual performances..there is a time and place for everything. it would be just as or even more offensive if during the CMA's Tim McGraw simulated getting a blow job from Faith Hill. gays make me laugh.
I imagine what he's really sorry about is that he just shot himself in the foot so to speak. A lot of people aren't going to want to buy his record now. He is not a budding superstar. So far his music sucks. I am not sure what the point is that Ellen was trying to make. It is one thing to purposefully watch a sexually performance and another to be ambushed by one. Especially for people that have sensitivities when it comes to gay sex acts.
Why didn't ABC use a 5 minute broadcast delay? ABC is 100% responsible for not using a delay on network TV; and Adam Lambert is not at fault here.

I don't really agree with the fact that if one is to be offended by one sexual performance, they should be offended by all. There is a fine line between a homosexual kiss (between males or females), which I personally am not offended by; and implied sexual acts(oral) as well as sadomasochistic portrayals- which I don't think that were appropriate. Also, coming down to the fact that he did not respect his agreements with the network, and they are the ones allowing him to perform on TV in the first place.

I was one of the people who DID find his performance a little TOO over the top and offensive, and Ellen is right: I hate it when people are hypocritical and they complain about this, but not about other performances that are over-the-top as well. I just didn't think it was appropriate, nor would it have been for anyone else gay or straight. I didn't think the gay kiss was a big deal (there's plenty of gay kissing on tv, I don't know why anyone would care), just some of the other things were too much.

I don't think that's true about being offended by all sexual scenes… except as the double standard occurs. But it might not be a question of gay/straight it might be a question of 'where's the line' in general. Many have expressed that they were not offended by the kiss, but the simulated BJ was too far for television… EVEN had it been a girl *gasp* down there. I think it's okay to have limits of what can be shown…. EVEN in late night TV. Drawing the line isn't always a bad thing. It's decency.
