Lily Allen Confirms Break From Music
But that's the only thing we like about her!
Lily Allen has announced that she will be taking "one or two years off from recording and performing music" beginning in March 2010. Lily's last scheduled gig is a Dizzee Rascal concert at the O2 Arena in London.
Allen plans to start her own record label and set up a fashion store with her sister. She's also not participating in the worldwide craze known as the INTERNET. Silly says:
"I've stopped everything, I haven't got a computer and I haven't got a blackberry. I don't do emails or anything now. I've decided to stop being so hypocritical and consume things and pay for them. I buy music in vinyl and buy newspapers. I support the industry I'm in. I'm a neo-luddite, that's how I describe myself."
Lily's retail endeavors with her sister include setting up a rental fashion store called Lucy In Disguise. She explains:
"It's about making fashion democratic. That's the idea behind it. It's about getting really nice clothes but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won't cost them a million dollars."
As for the record label, she plans to sign and support new artists "at a really early level."
In addition to working, Lily also says she just wants "to spend some time in the home I've built for myself."

I hope her record label has more success than yours has Perez. Why no mention of Sliimy being in the top 10 and the running for better placement via votes for trans-european awards.

i'm not a huge fan but i give her props for getting away from all the technology — we could all benefit from that. it's also cool that she supports her industry/the arts in the right way…all these rich musicans using limewire, etc - pathetic and hypocrytical!

That sounds like the perfect amount of time for trends to change and the public to forget about her. She is not THAT famous to think that this will last forever. Sad but most women in music have a shorter shelf life than most of the guys. Just like every kid or B-actor on a sitcom that doesnt work anymore, time goes on and on and on and on and on and on, but your career wont!
Sorry Lilys actually a really good musician and i love her album , it managed to get to number 1 in the UK and sold bloody loads and it was no 5 in the USA to perez so can you pls stop slagging her offfffffffffff

I am really dissapointed in lil, i loved her so much, she was my idol and just to hear this, its like a big fuck you to all the fans. ive got 3 cds of its not me its you and a cd of alright still, and ive supported her with everything and its just ilek nope fuck you, im qutting, fuck, didnt think she wiould do soemthing ilke this, but i guess, celebritys are differerent to what they make out to be.
