Rihanna Opens Up About Her Estranged Father
Rihanna and her father haven't been in contact for about year and the singer revealed that she's tried to contact him but receives no response.
And when reports surfaced recently that the Barbadian beauty's dad has been trying to reconcile with his daughter recently, RiRi said:
"That sounds very strange to me, seeing as I've been the one trying to reconcile with him forever…He has my number."
The two fell out after Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, was drunk while on tour with her and he created an even larger gap between the two when he spoke out to the media about the Chris Brown incident back in February. RiRi explains:
"He kind of did something that was really upsetting. He turned his back on me and went to the media. He got paid to talk about stuff - all these little interviews he was doing after the whole situation in February. I hadn't spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did. It was so disappointing to me."
Before that, Ronald upset Rihanna with his behavior on tour and she asked him to go home, not realizing that it would cause such a long rift between the two:
"He disrespected some people on the bus and I didn't like that, so I kind of just let him go back home. I didn't think it was going to be a thing where we weren't talking to each other. I just thought: 'You just need some time away right now…' Every time I tried to call him after that, that was it. I contacted him on numerous occasions - father's day, his birthday - and just nothing."
Rihanna now says that the ball is in her dad's court and there's nothing else she can do.
"I haven't heard from my father in over a year. I try though, I reached out to him. I did my part. Now it's on him."

People on these gossip websites critisize her and try to tear her apart but the reality is that we are not her, we don't know what she has and currently goes through in her life. I saw another website critisizing her for not speaking to her father but how can you critisize something that you do not know about? nobody knows the REAL reason she does not speak to her father, for all we know he was probably a bad dad all of her life. Rihanna is great! she's gorgeous and from the interviews that I have seen her in, she seems really down to earth and like any other 22 year old. She is always seen with her best friend Melissa who she has been friends with since she was a young girl so that says alot! Good luck Ri Ri, you are one of my favorite artists!

Finally you post something about Rihanna! This story came out a week ago. It was from her interview with Angie Martinez on Hot 97. I feel bad for her. That must really suck to not even be able to trust your dad.

If this is true, then Rhianna's Dad's drug addiction is all the more reason to keep it out of the media.
Why is she speaking publicly about such serious, long-term family problems? Rhianna should save it all for family counseling .. Very few issues are solved in People Magazine or PerezHilton.com!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all we know, the reason why she may be talking to the media about her family problems is probably because her dad is talking to them first, maybe HE is the one airing out all the dirty laundry and she is being asked by the media about whats going on so she's just trying to explain herself. Like Perez said, her dad spoke to the media about her incident with chris brown back in February. It's like the Lohan dad, everybody tries to be famous one way or another. Even if it's stepping over your kid. it's sad. I'm 22 and I can relate to Rihanna in alot of ways, she's a super cool girl.

Relatives of celebs can be real pieces of work, heck relatives of all of us can be real pieces of work. At the end of the day it is better to come to some sort of arrangement/relationship, especially while parents, in particular, are still alive.

I am so sick of this girl spilling her dirty laundry months and months after it's happened just so she can sell some records. I mean seriously what's next? She was sexually abused by her uncle? Her mom beat her? Her high school friends forced her a screw a donkey at party? She got pregnant at 12 and gave the baby up for adoption and now wants it back?
