David Beckham Coaches For Hope
While visiting Cape Town, South Africa, David Beckham took some time to attend Coaching for Hope, a program that raises HIV awareness techniques and uses soccer to help create a better future for youth.
After his visit Becks said:
“It is amazing to visit a project like this and see the effect football has on young people. Football has the power to change lives and these youngsters are able to learn valuable lessons through their love of the game.
I feel privileged to have met these children and despite the fact we come from different backgrounds we share a love for the game of football.
Aids is a very real problem in places like Khaylitsha and football must ensure it does whatever it can to help educate young people of its dangers and make a difference.”
Hopefully this visit was able to lift his spirits after receiving the devastating news that his grandfather passed away.

not a big fan, but it takes a strong person to stay where he is and help others instead of going home to grieve for his gramps. kudos to him for his humility and lack of selfishness at this trying time.

I'm sorry, but Beckham is a total hack. He can't play worth a shit. He was never any good, and now he's too old to play. "Bend it like Beckham" ??? The banana shot existed long before Beckham was born.
This is a result of the kick-and-run hack style of British soccer. If he's sitting in the front line, and all the defensive line does is crack the ball as far up the pitch as possible, he's bound to score eventually as long as he has the stamina to chase after the ball. Poor midfielders.
It's great that he's helping kids…but aside from a few photos, what else has he done for these kids? Clearly, not knowing football precludes him from effective coaching.
He's earned many millions on a fraudulent talent…did he donate any of this?
I'm afraid that this is just a pubilicity stunt. I don't believe that he's genuine.

He wasn't just visiting, he was there for the World Cup Draw. Anyways, I like seeing this from him! : ) It's awesome that he's doing something good for South Africa…and cannot wait to see USA play England next summer! ; )
