George Stephanopoulos Offered GMA Spot
Former Clinton White House aide and current host of Washington-based This Week, George Stephanopoulos, has been offered the co-host position on Good Morning America to replace Diane Sawyer!
His duties are still being discussed as Stephanopoulos will likely show more interest if he can focus more on politics and world news as opposed to feature segments.
ABC News President David Westin is quite interested in George as he hopes to make the first hour of GMA revolve more around hard news and add consumer information to the later hours.
While George is expected to accept the position, if talks break down, Chris Cuomo is the network's alternative choice, even though he essentially already co-hosts the show. Whoever is the final choice will host alongside Robin Roberts.
Either way both of them are good choices.

I'd much rather see Chris than George. George would be better for the evening anchor. Diane, better for the 20/20-type shows. ABC is really screwing things up. Might be time for me to switch!
I would like to see Chris as the co-host. He's so genuine and warm and down to earth. George is fine and would make a good addition to the show but I'd prefer Chris as co-host w/ Robin.
And when the heck are Robin and Sam coming out? Everyone knows they are gay. I think it's pretty cool that such a popular morning show as 2 gay anchors out of 4, but it's like no one talks about it so it's like it isn't admitted.
As for Diane-she's good but being in her 60s, how long until she retires? George will probably take over World News at that point, and Diane can go out on a high.
I hope Chris Cuomo gets it. He seems really likeable, plus he's a supporter of Jeni Stepanek, mother of the late teen poet Mattie JT Stepanek.
I don't see George in this gig.
George should be replacing Charlie in the evening.
Diane should stay where she is.

Oh please not George, he has the personality of a tree!!! I LOVE Chris Cuomo he is such a genuine family type of guy..I watch Chris, Robin, Sam and Diane every morning, don't ruin the show with George!!! I will be forced to watch the Today show LOL

Robin Roberts is the minority trifecta. Black, female and gay.
This would be an EPIC FAIL. As a member of the press, George is considered a REAL snooze! I would feel VERY slighted if I were Chris.
George has ZERO screen presence. I will switch network news shows if the brass move ahead with this POOR choice.

Ugh. George is an awful choice. Unappealing, takes himself too seriously, isn't great to look at…. I'd forget George, go with Chris, and bring in the freshest, smartest cupcake I could find.
