Portia Talks Gay Marriage On The View

The beautiful Portia de Rossi appeared on The View today and spoke about her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres and gay marriage.

She had some really beautiful things to say and made some AMAZING points about civil rights in this country!

We also love how she stood up for herself when Elizabitch opened her big, dumb mouth!

      I actually thought Elizabeth's question was intelligent and what everyone wants to know. And both were eloquent through it all. Maybe that interview will help her (EH) come to a better understanding about what is important in this rights issue.

      Elizabeth seemed to suggest that gay couples should be satisfied with the term "civil union" instead of "marriage". That could have been where Portia "had to defend herself".

      Are you serious? I'm not a fan of Hasselback, but seriously, she didn't say ANYTHING stupid - actually, if anything - she was supporting what Portia was saying. I get she has a conservative bias, but really, she didn't say anything that was bashing the homosexual community or was homophobic.

      Re: Yellow Peeps – Thanks for your tireless and accurate support of LGBT equality. I don't even, for some reason, believe you are a gay or lesbian person but a well informed and fair person, but I could be wrong.
      Thanks so much because I read so much homophobia here (and Perez only makes it worse, frankly) but I just don't have the energy to respond to it. I just take comfort in polls that show time will change the current set of circumstances and that right now I am a proud citizen of Massachusetts.

      for MILLIONS of years the word Marriage has mean't between man and woman. I am all for equal rights and benefits etc… but I do not agree that the term should be redefined. Gays should have their own term/name for it. That way when someone says they are married you don't have to guess "to a man or a woman?" SHe is wrong. It does not make their union "less" than - it just makes it easier to understand what kind it is -with no judgement. Plus the nuclear family should not be refined. Expanded on - fine. but not redefined.Until the word marriage is changed to something else I wont support it and no. Elizabeths question was completely legit.
